I am trying to track down a book I read one or two years ago. It is chick lit, I hate that term. Pretty cover, snowy scene, but artistic not a photo. The story is about a girl whose life is not going well and heads off in her car. She is adopted and ends up in the village where she was left on a doorstep some years ago. She ends up staying in the local pub for a few days. It is winter or could be christmas time. She returns home to collect her belongings and speaks to her adopted parents and returns to the village where she starts a new and happier life. I cannot recall the title or author. It could have been one of those 3 for £5 books you get in The Works. Hope someone can help.

I should add that I have tried google and other places too. Even tried some well known "chick lit" authors but no success.

Not quite the same story but this is about a girl who was fostered all her life. She heads off in her car to a small village and they all look after her and she ends up living there after she finds her mum. I don't think it is your book but there are bits that are the same
