Caribbean? naw! strickly u.k. roots!anyhoo, the highs of aswad are the most high, but the lows are, let's be honest, rank! space helpfully cites a 21 album range, but, for me there's about 7 worthy, 4 of which are essential and fitting to be among the best in the u.k. roots canon - the choice is yours...........i'm starting with a dub. magnificent bass, magnificent horns.

All done then, and a hugely impressive 11 voters for the 9 noms, looks like Aswad grabbed the voters attention, good to see.Grabbing the glory this week, Tech takes his own gold with 14 points for his nom, Dub Fire. A point behind and it's a rare appearance on the podium for theFoe with a silver for Dub Charge. And a further 2 points behind, but still enough for the bronze for Tim with I A Rebel Soul.
And there is no need for me to go digging through the drawer, yet again, we don't need the wooden spoons.
'rah! for me! gratifying that two dubs top the list, but at the same time a pity, as the vocals and harmonies of 'prime time' aswad were particularly effective. at least (for me) the winning songs were all from that era.
Wiki lists 21 albums since their first in 1976, so there shouldn't be any problems finding a song to nom.
The usual thing then, noms to be in by 10 pm Sunday evening, leave a link to your nom, and remember to come back to vote next week.
