I'm reading Stiff: The Curious Lives of Human Cadavers right now, but for a different challenge.

I think you could put it under an oxymoron, cadavers are dead therefore they can't have curious lives.

Also, I think it'd fall under dark academia. Not the thought we immediately have of a school setting, but it's academic and a dark topic.

The past/present/future is from AtY :-) And yes you could make an argument that it is set in the near future.

Maybe a dream job or a subject you are passionate about? (a lot of this book is about the start of the FBI) Or a book about forgetting (because most of this country "forgot" these events - I certainly had not heard of them!) You could really stre-e-e-e-tch the "song title" category because there's a song titled "Under the Killing Moon." And, it's been a while since I read this book, but I'm pretty sure there are people from at least three generations (maybe someone who read it more recently can confirm).
