Jannene wrote: "Unfortunate series added this year...They should have never crossed our path..."Hahahaha.... I love this! They had no idea they were coming into contact with serial killers!
I can’t quite see all the new stuff and the complete gifs on my iPod, but you gave me a title that I need for a book published in 2019. Now, I can get on my laptop tomorrow and buy it and I will have three of the No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency orphans on my museum challenge. We need to read the 5th Lady of the Art of Death book this year. I haven’t found a place for it on my challenge yet, but there is hope.
Yes, if Dom and I can work through the Ladies Detective we can get to elephant on a cover. Maybe I will be desperate and read out of series just to get to that one. :/
I meant that the 20th No. 1 Ladies’ book was published in 2019. I had found places for #18 and #19 on my museum challenge and now I have a place for #20. Agh, I didn’t see he had released #21 last year. Is there a task for an elephant on the cover? If not, I could make one up. Hahaha!
Cherie wrote: "Is there a task for an elephant on the cover? If not, I could make one up. Hahaha!"Museum 3! For the "Collection" task.
Dominique wrote: "Jannene wrote: "You had enough sleep this year."Nah don't think so! Fred is my witness!"
Is there ever enough sleep? I can't remember a time as an adult when I had enough.

I know, when we were younger, we didn't want to sleep and now we're begging to sleep more!
Planned January reads:First up, The Knife of Never Letting Go.
Faithful Place
(buddy read on 2021 thread)
Crown of Oblivion
I just finished The Knife of Never Letting Go. I was not as fond of the book as Dominique. She’s planning on continuing with the series and I’m waving the white flag surrendering.
I have the first Dublin Murder Squad book, both in text and audio. I am not sure if I can hurry up for your buddy read or not.
The thread said they don't have to be read in order. I would agree with that given I read the first two.*I do have to admit there a handful of series that I read out of order. It is very limited.
I might join you for the Dublin Murder Squad series. I've read only the first one. I've also been said that it is not necessary to read the books in order. Do you also have a schedule or the dates are still to be decided?
Sandra, we are finishing out this series. 3rd one this month and so on until they finish. We are reading with another group. Some have started this book already. Dom and I haven’t yet but will read it this month and discuss in the thread. If you click the thread link I have above it will take you to where we are discussing it.
buddy read
Ok. Got it. Thank you. I already have too many reads planned for January. I guess I will pass for now.
Dom and I finished Faithful Place. We both really enjoyed the book. I found you really could read them out of order since this didn’t refer to the previous book.
@Janice, that book was very good. I liked it better than the predecessors.Dom and I are starting Crown of Oblivion. I got this new autographed, hardback book from my university store for fifty cents. You read that right! I bought one for Dom too and sent it to her.

Thank you again!

No, I haven't read Crown of Oblivion. I'll wait till I hear what you and Dom think of it before adding it to my wishlist. I'm trying to get my wishlist under control. Every time I add something, I try to delete a few.
We finished Crown of Oblivion. It was a good book but the author left a few loose ends. It had enjoyable characters, descriptive locations, but those loose ends seemed to cast shade on the book. Plus it felt like it was a rip off of the Hunger Games series with only a few changes.
Next up on our kill list; Nevernight. This is a reread because we waited too long to finish the 2nd and 3rd book.
We finished Broken Harbor. Neither one of us thought it was a great book. None of the characters were likable and sometimes that works. In this book, it did not.We started The Shadow of the Wind.
We finished our first series...The Dublin Squad. It was good but the last book really was a let down.
Oh, too bad about the Dublin Murder Squad.I want to read thee Clockwork Prince too. I will check and see if I can get a copy to read.
We gave up on the Infernal Devices series. We didn’t like it. I abandoned the Maze Runner series. We both just finished The Prisoner of Heaven. We will be reading the last book.
We also want to finish the Nevernight series Darkdawn.
I ‘be been waiting for you guys to get to the last book, to join you. I am enjoying the Clifton Chronicles books.
We finished the last book in the Nevernight series; Darkdawn and it was good. I wish the ending had a different twist but it was still tolerable. Now we are looking at killing off the Pendergast orphans! They are starting to multiply like bunnies.
Cherie wrote: "I ‘be been waiting for you guys to get to the last book, to join you. I am enjoying the Clifton Chronicles books."
I do plan on reading the series,..... one day!
We finished Verses for the Dead. The first third of third was boring but then it picked up. We just started Crooked River. Then we will be caught up until the new release in August.
Yes, I am looking forward to the new book out in August!I am currently reading the last book in The Mistress of the Art of Death series. The one written by the author’s daughter. It is a pretty good story, so far. A little drawn out, but written pretty much the same. The daughter’s prose is a little more sophisticated but the love between Rowley and Adelia is there without being so strained.
I am really enjoying listening to the first Penn Cage series book, The Quiet Game. I really like him and the story is definitely a thriller!
Cherie, we (I am speaking for Dom) would finish out the series with you if you want. We liked it too.
I am done with the first Penn Cage book and I am adding it to my series list. I put the next book on hold at my library.
How many books have you finished?
Awesome! I‘ll let you know when I get my copy. Are you going to be reading the fourth book in The Cemetery of Forgotten Books (The Labyrinth of Spirits) in August?
Cherie wrote: "Awesome! I‘ll let you know when I get my copy. Are you going to be reading the fourth book in The Cemetery of Forgotten Books (The Labyrinth of Spirits) in August?"
Yes we both will be.
Dom and I killed off our Pendergast orphans. We are current until August. Now we are reading The Twelfth Card.
