Thanks for this, I'd want someone to reach out personally to me if they thought I was publishing unreadable books! If you have time to do some read/review, I'd appreciate it. Here's my info and email...mobility61@yahoo.com

I think this is a legit review, just in for KENNEDY GIRL. I posted a sell sheet for the book, promising to award the first person to spot a typo a free copy of the book. She got one, so I sent along the book. Yesterday I received her 'review'. I don't think I solicited a review from her, just a careful edit of my sell sheet. "I loved Hicks’ authentic characters. Her heroine Annie’s large, sprawling Catholic family, with its authoritarian father and careworn mother is warm, messy and totally real. I enjoyed her authentic recreation of the tumult of 1968, a pivotal year in American politics and society.
"These changes become very personal as Hicks helps us to live (or re-live) this era through Annie’s eyes. She gradually loses her teen innocence through experiences she shares with those around her. She learns about civil rights through her Romeo and Juliet romance with Lucas in America’s racially-divided house. She comes face to face with sexual abuse in the Catholic church and struggles with her faith when she helps her friend Theresa to make a difficult choice. She learns the horrors of the Vietnam war from her brother Bart, a deserter from the navy.
"All the issues of this turbulent era are here, civil rights, the peace movement, politics, religion, patriarchy, and women’s rights. Through Annie’s eyes, history becomes personal, and climaxes with Annie and Bart’s thrilling flight north from L.A. to Canada, a page-turner that I couldn’t put down.
"You have to read this book!" - Lesley Hebert
As an indie author, It is such a thrill to write books, especially when I never thought I'd be a writer. It still surprises me sometimes when I think about it. 2022...had a dream...prayed about it...told by a higher calling to write a book about the dream. Basically, the first book I wrote (Kingdom Love: A Parable of Everlasting Love) is supposed to be a reminder of how much we are loved...but written in a romance fantasy story setting...guess my maker knew what He was doing when He made me love to write from childhood. :)
Now, having a taste of doing what I love most, I released book #1 of my very first series. So excited to get the 2nd book and 3rd book done. The movie (per se) is already playing in my head for the next 2 books, LOL.
For now, I want to do a "shout out" to all you readers willing to help us new authors with your reviews. You are so valuable to us and we appreciate you! :)
