Girl, I am so stressed out this season and I can only imagine what its like for you. Thanks and I hope you stay safe

Tomorrow should be a quiet day around here. Again, fingers crossed!
Just so I don't forget, I hope you all have a peaceful and safe holiday!

No rush on this, I know it's early- will this list count for rags-to riches or fairy tale retelling?
Best Gay Cinderfellas

Will a dual tag of college-love be acceptable for Apple?"
Yes, in context. Basically if it doesn't mean 'a book I loved in college' (which isn't likely), it will work.

Fran, I'm not ready to commit to that as of yet but it seems like it should work.

But I think things are getting back to normal now. 🤞🏼 I hope to have the qualifications for Date 3 posted tomorrow, in between getting caught up with the tracking, and in between finishing my books for December... There's time for all of that left in the month right?! 😳

But I think thi..."
I feel terrible. I think a combination of holiday blues (no fam due to social distancing) and trying to read too much for the challenge is making me rate all my books 2-3 stars. I think I haven't read a 4-star this whole month so it can't be the books. Its me, my mind isn't right. I hate this pandemic

LOL I just did a 'compare books' with you, hoping I could recommend something great, but we've already 5 stared all the same books so I've got nothing new for you.

Hugs to you, Ezi!! I've been very low too (miss my husband a lot). I watched WW84 last night and bawled my eyes out after I went to bed. (I was like...I feel you Diana...I FEEL YOU!!)
In order not to get in a book rut, I decided not to read for SH unless I really feel like reading the book. That has helped.

My hubby is trying to make me feel better by watching the Bridgerton series with me. We are on episode 3 now.
I feel guilty complaining when there are people who are truly suffering due to loss of loved ones. I want to have an attitude of gratitude. I just have to get there mentally.
But you are right D.G, I need to read what speaks to me. I’m afraid to watch Wonder Woman as the reviews are NOT good

What do we think about Bridgerton? I couldn’t bring myself to read the book because of you-know-what! Does the show change the plot a little?

I loved Bridgerton and loved all the books.

I loved the books. we are on episode 3, but I know that movies/tv shows always leave out things and alter certain storylines.
My husband is enjoying it and just asked me what a "rake" is.

Funny how many people have starting reading the Bridgerton series because of the show. (I see it all over my feed now!)
On WW84 - I really liked it but the beginning was slow and everything was so bright! I was like...I don't remember the 80s being that colorful hahaha!! Also, I don't think that Pedro Pascal was the best actor for the villain. They needed someone better looking that could be really smarmy (as that was the essence of the role...a guy who talked people into things.) That role didn't seem natural to him. Kristin Wiig was fabulous though.

Please remember that all tags/lists must qualify IN CONTEXT!! Links MUST be provided.
Don't make more work for yourself than necessary - if the qualifier is in the title or on the cover, use it! You don't have to go searching for tags to make it work. 😊 If the link you use for the book is the same you are using for the page count and edition - say so (see above edition or something similar)! That saves us all some steps. But please double check your links!
You may use separate editions of your Scavenger Hunt books to qualify for the different tasks. Links MUST be provided.
C is for Calendar - Read a time-travel romance.
To qualify for this task, the title, series title, précis, book details, list or tag would need to indicate that the selected book is a time-travel romance.
C is for Canada - Read a book set in Canada or written by a Canadian author.
To qualify, the author of the selected book needs to be from or currently live in Canada. Or, the title, series title, precis, book details, tags or list need to indicate the book is set in Canada. The setting can be the country, a province or territory or city. Some cities, Vancouver for example, would need something to indicate that it is in Canada and not the US.
C is for Ciao - Read a book that is the last or most recent in a series.
To qualify for this task, the selected books need the last or most recent book in a series. Please include a link to the series page in your completion post. There can be future books listed on the series page, but the one you read for this task needs to be the one most recently published.
C is for Cinderella - Read a rags to riches romance or a fairytale re-telling.
To qualify, the title, precis, tags or list would need to indicate that the selected book is a fairytale retelling or has a rags-to riches storyline. For fairytales, it could be a specific one like 'Cinderella' or 'Beauty and the Beast' or the generic 'fairytale'.

Here's hoping we eventually get to do many of the things that have been on hold for so long. 🤞🏼

I will second that, MKat! 👏 Goodbye 2020, and Cheers to a much better 2021 for everyone! 🥂

Mkat if C for Ciao is called just confirming will .5 books work..say 3.5 if it is the last published book?

Yes.

My internet is down. 😡 I can’t make the typical end of date post - and I even have it typed out and ready to copy too! I will be using the time stamps when I go to confirm your completions. Please make sure you don’t edit your posts, repost if necessary!
ETA: Of course as soon as I gave up and posted from my phone, the internet is back. 🤷🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️

Yes."
Hi Kat - if there is a book that is the last full length novel in a series (eg #2 - 300+ pages), but also a follow up novella (#2.5 - any length pages) - will the #2 still work for Ciao?

For Cinderella:
Will a tag of 'millionaire' or 'rich' work?
Or if the precis indicates that one MC is wealthy and the other MC is working for them?

🌹Theme - Quarantine Dating🌹
Date 3 - C
C is for Canada - Read a book set in Canada or written by a Canadian author.

The setting can be the country, a province or territory or city. Some cities, Vancouver for example, would need something to indicate that it is in Canada and not the US..
Remember books must be 90 pages (first edition English language Kindle) and MPG Romance!!
You have until Friday, January 8 @ Midnight US EDT to post your completion(s).
Please ensure that your completion post conforms to message #3 of your team thread. If you complete more than one book for the date task, be sure to include that information in your completion post. Remember no discussion in your completion posts!

Since this will only be for SH books, I will allow both the last regularly numbered and any subsequent novellas for Ciao. (And hope I don't end up regretting it!)

Rich or millionaire won't work, doesn't imply rags-to-riches only that someone is rich. In context, the precis stating that one MC is wealthy and the other works for them would work. Now if one is the CEO and the other is a VP - that would not indicate rags-to-riches as both would be well off.

Just saying they live in Canada is enough. But I will accept links from outside GR for this task.

Yes.

Yes, but you will need to provide links so that I can follow the trail.

H is for Habanero - Read a book tagged as 'hot' or 'steamy'.
To qualify for this task, the selected books need to be tagged as 'hot' or 'steamy', alone or combined. The qualification for this task comes from tags/shelves ONLY. The tag does not have to be MPG, but the book must be tagged at least once to qualify. Please include a link to the top shelves page of your book's qualifying tag (not to the people who have used that tag or to the shelf for the tag!), the number of tags and the top shelves page number in your completion post. This information helps if the link is broken or if the tag moves as they frequently do.
H is for Hate - Read an enemies-to-lovers romance.
To qualify, the title, series title, precis, tags or lists need to indicate that the selected book is an enemies to lovers romance.
H is for Hefty - Read a book over 300 pages, first edition Kindle page count.
To qualify for this task, the selected books need to be 300 pages or over, first edition Kindle page count.
H is for Homonym - Read a book with a homonym in the title.
To qualify for this task, the title needs to contain a homonym. This is the definition of homonym that will be used for this task:
In linguistics, homonyms, broadly defined, are words which are homographs (words that share the same spelling, regardless of pronunciation) or homophones (words that share the same pronunciation, regardless of spelling), or both. For example, according to this definition, the words row (propel with oars), row (argument) and row (a linear arrangement) are homonyms, as are the words see (vision) and sea (body of water).
Words that basically mean the same thing, but can be a noun and verb will not count. For example, captain (noun - the person in command of a ship/plane) and captain (verb - to be the captain of a ship/plane) will not be allowed. To count, the definitions need to be distinct. You will need to identify the homonym in the title of your selected book and include the different definitions of the homonym. Please don't just assume I will be able to figure it out!

Please remember that all tags/lists must qualify IN CONTEXT!! Links MUST be provided.

Regarding homonyms- do we have to provide a link to a dictionary or something? Or simply say Homonym - see( vision) and sea (water body) ? Will that be enough?
