29 - A book set in multiple countries
I actually just started reading The Lady Rogue and it begins in Turkey but the characters travel to Hungary. The Best We Could Do is a graphic memoir (so this could work for the "medium that you don't usually read" challenge as well) and the narrator describes her life in America as well as her parents' lives in Vietnam. I'd say it's about 50/50.
Looking forward to The Great Railway Bazaar. I've really enjoyed the Paul Theroux books I've read in the past.
A few I've read and recommend:No Baggage: A Minimalist Tale of Love and Wandering
Across a Green Ocean
The Bourne Identity
A River in Darkness: One Man's Escape from North Korea
King of the Wind: The Story of the Godolphin Arabian
Tony Wheeler's Dark Lands
Some that I've read this year:
Me Before You
Homegoing
China Rich Girlfriend
Crazy Rich Asians
We Have Always Been Here: A Queer Muslim Memoir
Long Walk Out of the Woods: A Physician's Story of Addiction, Depression, Hope, and Recovery
Falsipedies and Fibsiennes
Inferno

Not sure what I'll do but a read a couple this year that are perfect for this. Less
The Gentleman's Guide to Vice and Virtue
Thrillers are an easy genre to use for this prompt. The right travel book would also be a fun way to go.
I’m going to reread https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/5... for this one! I haven’t read it in forever, but it’s a classic!

I've never read it and have always wanted to. Here is my chance!
Melanie wrote: "The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue works for this! Just finished and loved it."Oh good! I thought it was only set in France.
I asked a question about The Arctic Fury by Greer McCallister on its goodreads page if it occurs in more then one country and she answered me! Yes it does so I am going with it.
Risa wrote: "Does anyone know whether Tea Girl of Hummingbird Lane fits this prompt? Thanks!"Yes, definitely 2 countries.
I've been meaning to read The Night Circus for a while, and i love The Starless Sea, so maybe i'll go with that, but I'm also considering Normal People, see what the hype is all about. If you havent read it already, I would strongly suggest The Kite Runner (i feel like plugging it every where lol) or All the Light We Cannot See which i absolutely adore.
Searching for Sylvie Lee by Jean Kwok. It not only sees actions in different times (jumps back and forth) but also in different cities and countries. Over the course of the story, the action moves from New York & New Jersey, USA; to Holland; to China; and to Venice, Italy.
Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert - this book features India, Italy and IndonesiaThe Beekeeper of Aleppo by Christy Lefteri - this books features UK, Syria, Turkey and Greece
I just finished Washington Black and it features Barbados, USA, the Artic, Canada, England, the Netherlands and Morocco so it definitely counts.
Can I pick "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe" for this prompt? Considering Narnia as another country.
Technically, it doesn’t say it has to be “actual” countries, so I don’t see why science fiction or fantasy can’t count. Gulliver's Travels, anyone? 😀
I had picked Migrations for this prompt. It includes Ireland, Australia, Canada, and Antarctica. If I’m being honest most of it takes place on the sea and in Ireland- but still, I highly recommend the book if anyone is looking for a place to slot it!
I read discovery of witches for the dark academia prompt but I am reading the second book Shadow of Night for this prompt. They travel quite a bit!
France, Switzerland, US, GermanyFinished The Book of Lost Names

Agatha Christie: Parker Pyne Investigates. Typical of Agatha Christie, the locations are as exciting as the stories.
I read Neither Here nor There: Travels in Europe by Bill Bryson for this one.The Innocents Abroad by Mark Twain would also be a good one if you're into travel writing.
Just finished American Spy by Lauren Wilkinson. It takes place in Africa, the U.S., and on Martinique. Definitely counts for this prompt and is an excellent read.
I just finished reading Conviction by Denise Mina. I hadn't planned on this book for this prompt but, as Nadine said you can't always know how many countries a book is set in until you read it. It goes from the UK to France and Italy. This book is great and I definitely recommend it. (I had the audiobook and it was great...it is read in a beautiful Scottish accent and I think, makes the book better.)
I read The Queen's Gambit. Overall I guess I liked it okay, but there was a lot about it I didn't like. I started watching the Netflix show, and the first episode was better in some ways. I will probably finish watching it, but I didn't find it as compelling as the rest of the world seems to.
I used Magic Lessons by Alice Hoffman for this prompt. It was set in Essex England, Curacao, Salem Massachusetts, United States.
Finished reading And Only to Deceive by Tasha Alexander, a historical mystery through which I visited London, Paris and Santorini, Greece.

Wanderlust, anyone? Sometimes it's hard to know how many countries a book is set in until you read it.
