The Main Square

René walked down the streets slowly, taking in the hustle and bustle of the place. She stopped in the center of the square and looked around at the passers-by. Grouchy, René glared at anyone who dared to make eye-contact.

Aei was sitting down. Her nine tails out.

René frowned, noticing a girl sitting not too far away. Her eyes widened in surprise. Were those tails? Was she a Kitsune, too?! René’s ears perked up from beneath a hood as she took a step closer.

The girl had fire-like colored hair. She was reading a book.

René moved in closer, but unfortunately wasn’t watching where she was going. The Kitsune bumped into someone and tripped over a foot, sending her stumbling. She staggered a few steps before catching herself on a wall, hood off, ears up. “Oops,” she muttered as a few odd glances were sent her way.

Aei looked up and noticed the glances. The kind of Katsune she was, was the kind who could control and element. She could control fire. Her eyes went red while she glared at the people.

René pushed herself up and glanced at the girl. Woah. Definitely a Kitsune. Fire, possibly? She put her hood back up and moved towards the other girl, returning a few looks with electric glares of her own. “Um... So... Hi...?” René had virtually zero experience in normal conversation.

“Uh...” René trailed off, not knowing how to actually talk to people. So instead, she just asked straightforward, “Fire Kitsune?”

René brightened. “I’m a Thunder Kitsune.” She looked around at the busy square and lowered her voice a bit.

She nodded. "Mhm."

René frowned slightly. “Wait, are there any other Kitsunes at the academy?”

"Yeah one more. I stay away from everyone so I don't really know."

“Oh, wow. Who knew there were so many more like...” She trailed off, speaking more to herself than to the girl.

She smiled.

Autumn soared high above the square, knowing no one would bother to look up. She summersaulted through the air and turned to dive towards the ground, tucking her raven black wings behind her. She winced as she unfurled them just before crashing into the ground of the small back alley she’d been aiming for. Autumn emerged from the alley and flipped up her hood, avoiding eye contact.

Autumn folded her wings under her jacket. It cramped up her joints and hurt like hell but it was worth it it drew less attention to her.
She fumed under her breath and glared at the people who looked at her until they looked away.
After a few minutes of watching, she made her way over to a shopkeeper selling clothing. Autumn desperately needed a new pair of combat boots, her current one squeezed her toes and gave her blisters on her heels. She selected a black pair with a slightly wedged heel and paid the shopkeeper. Autumn slipped on her new shoes and tossed the old ones in a nearby trash can; they were to old and worn to salvage and donate.
She returned to the alley and jumped into the air, unfurling her massive wings and flying away.

Amai walked around nervously. The very young girl was fidgeting with her skirt. She seemed nervous and fearful of something.

Comet trotted into the main square in her wolf form, glancing around. After a moment she shifted into her human form, then walked over to a bench and sat down, not noticing Amai yet

She backed up and sat near a small bush just slightly taller than her.

Comet looked up, thinking she'd heard a noise. She glanced around the courtyard, but didn't see anything. She shrugged and looked up at the sky

Amai hummed softly and started waving leaves together

Comet heard a rustling noise and glanced in it's direction, standing up to get a better view

Amai was in plane sight now. Her ice blue eyes were what caught most people's attention.

Comet spotted a girl and waved. "Hey. I'm Comet." she said, noticing the girl's ice blue eyes

Amai blinked and waved back giving Comet a small smile. "I'm Amai." She looked around cautiously and walked over sitting next to Comet.
