I am really enjoying this, at halfway through. I can only assume the surprisingly low overall Goodreads rating has a lot to do with mis-marketing - it has been pitched as a sort of Gone Girl meets Crazy Rich Asians but it’s a much slower, more thoughtful book than either of those. It has a lightly Gothic feel to it. The sibling relationship feels realistic, and the frank portrayal of an abusive marriage is powerful. It has really grabbed me so far.
I agree with Marie. I am very keen on how the family relationships are written especially between the two sisters. So far an enjoyable read. A little intrigue in a family is very tantalising.
