Joanne (joabroda1) | 12644 comments Thanks Holly-The community is really responding! We have blasted it all over social media and I cannot keep the store full for more than a couple of hours. We had to cancel all three of our book sales this year, hopefully this will help with the loss we took. I understand about your son, I cannot stop smiling today-it feels good!

I had someone use my credit card for fraud back in the 1990s (c. 1996 because we were living somewhere we only stayed in for two years and I only had one child). Thankfully Sears called me to confirm the order since it wasn't being shipped to the billing address. There was something that had gone through, but after I told my upstairs neighbour about it, all but one pair of underwear was magically returned. This is why I am almost 100 percent positive it was them. Since I got all of my statements and I didn't have a computer, I don't know if she managed to hear me make an order on the phone or how she did it.

This wasn't as bad a some of you have had because at least it wasn't a debit card or going on for some time.

Sadly, Sears, who was so great about that, became terrible 20 years later, but I won't go into that fiasco as it has nothing to do with credit card fraud.

Doughgirl5562 | 960 comments Theresa, Thank you for making me thinking of the good things that happened this year. It's given me joy to read everyone's lists. Here's mine:

1) My job. I am very grateful that I have a job that is busy and that I enjoy and allows me to work from home.
2) Zoom meetings - One of the things that has kept me sane. Both of my bookclubs moved to Zoom, and I joined a group of stitchers for a weekly cross stitch session. And I am sooo happy to put faces to names of some of my fellow book loving friends during the PBT Zoom sessions!
3) Cross-stitching -- an old hobby that I picked up again last year and am learning about new techniques and fun new materials such as hand dyed fabric and over dyed silks from my new Zoom stitching friends :-)
4) My trainer. I only work out every week with my trainer - mainly to keep me honest. After the spring lockdown, I didn't feel comfortable going back to the gym, so she has been coming to me and we've been training outside with the equipment she carries in the back of her van. I appreciate her flexibility sooo much.
5) Theatrical performances available online -- It started with Hamilton, of course, so I FINALLY got to see it. But other theaters have offered performances online also, The latest is the Lyceum in Edinburgh offering a few short Christmas performances.

Joanne, I just checked out your Reading Market and am very impressed. Congrats! Is this all yours - or are you getting help from others?

I volunteer with my Friends' of the Library sale held three times a year - just helping sort donations, and then set up before the sale. I miss it and know that the FOTL misses the $ from the missed sales.

Lynn - so happy you have delved back into cross stitch and found a zoom stitching group who are properly enabling you! My local group, the Metrostitchers, which has always been run using the internet (remember YahooGroups?) But stitched at various locations, now meets every Monday evening using Facebook room on its group page.

Now I want to hear more about these Lyceum performances...

Oh gosh no! Not all me. Although I will proudly take claim of the idea. I am a member of the board and I got one other member of our board, who is a techie (which I am not) to help me and the IT guys at the library and our Marketing dept put hours into helping me design and getting up and running.

I understand how much you miss helping out at the library. Back in April when we shut down, I could not even imagine how long it would be before we were able to come back. Right now the Library is following State guidelines, and may have to shut down again on Wednesday-We volunteers have only been back 4 weeks now, (the library is still closed except for curbside) and I will be sad if they have to lock down again.
