This is a very popular novel, beloved by booktubers everywhere. Thoughts?

I rated this two stars the first time around because I didn't like the characters, the pacing was off, and the tragic backstories were cheesy at times. I reread this with a bunch of friends, and I liked it more that time, so I rated it three stars.
I really liked it because of the characters but the pacing was weird and the chapters where so long for no reason
