Go Catch This Book! At least, if you're in the mood for a wild ride of a lifetime. Catch Lili Too feels exactly like that: a fast ride down a widely curvy road, with scenery blurring on both sides if you happen to glance out the window. Be careful, though, because the navigator of this journey is a jaded, life-weary siren who hates to be touched. Get the irony? Yep, and you'll get really used to it because author Sophie Whit has stuffed their very fun and just a little bit freaky fantastical punk whodunnit full of these kinds of laugh-out-loud ironic bits. Also included are plenty of nodding references to world mythology and religions. Whit pulls from everywhere, drawing connections and bringing together universal themes of immortality, the meaning of life, and protecting the innocent.

Catch Lili Too is not a short read, but is the type of story I enjoy most by racing through the pages. It doesn't make sense to stop along the way and contemplate what might happen next. You just won't be able to imagine. Besides, more important than what happens action-wise is what happens character-wise. Even with a lot of violence and creepiness tossed into the mix, this is really a sweet tale of acceptance and building community. Just watch out for your heart: Lili might decide she wants to eat it!
