Oh this book was just FANTASTIC. Are we allowed re-reads?

Kate (tulosai) | 49 comments Okay I am going to do the Duchess Wars by Courtney Milan

The Duchess War (Brothers Sinister, #1) by Courtney Milan

Part of it is in London, so there is the setting, and they appear to kind of be fake dating for part of the book so I think that should count for plot? So that'd be 9

Dancing Queen RLftCI | 678 comments Works for plot. How much of the book takes place in London, Kate?

message 107: by Kate (new)

Kate (tulosai) | 49 comments Probably not enough unfortunately. I will switch to The Duke and I (Bridgertons, #1) by Julia Quinn

It is set solely in London from what I can tell (is on the London shelf) and also involves a fake relationship.

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 752 comments Gah and once again, I can't find the audiobook on my IPOD. It says it's there but it's not. Not under audiobooks, playlist, title, author or narrator. It's MP3 which have always worked before. I don't know what to do.

message 109: by Mary X (new)

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 752 comments I figured it out. When did the device drop down menu get there? I have never had to select anything before it just automatically put it on my IPOD.

I know ! I had the same problem a few weeks ago ! I copied the audiobook and when I disconnect the iPod to listen to it ,it wasn't there . I finally figured that I should select the iPod in that menu!

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 752 comments I just realized that I have already read this book. It's been over a year. But I might change it. I'll keep listening the mean time.

I'm almost finished with my book. I listened to quite a lot last night and this morning.

ok...book Much Ado About You (Essex Sisters, #1) by Eloisa James cover Much Ado About You (Essex Sisters, #1) by Eloisa James (flowers)

Rate: 5 stars
Review: well..I really enjoyed this story...it is rather a "rags to riches" story....Tessa Essex is the daughter of a Viscout who dies almost penniless. he does leave a legacy of horseflesh as a dowry for each of his 4 daughters...as having had no sons, he much leave his crumbling estate to a distant male cousin. the 4 girls are whisked off to the care of Lord Holbrook, who believes them to be mere children. upon finding that they are marriagiable age, he goes about the business of trying to find appropriate husbands for each. it is a roundabout romance, with the 4 sisters being sisterly, and having sisterly disagreements. very loveable characters, even when they are being unkind to each other.

Kate (tulosai) | 49 comments I read The Duke and I (Bridgertons, #1) by Julia Quinn

Rating: 3 stars

I was really feeling this book until around the last 100 pages, when the two main characters got into an ugly lying battle that basically culminated with the heroine raping the drunk hero (though I'm sure the author wouldn't describe it that way, it is what happened). If you can get past that, though, this is a light, fun read that had me laughing out loud at many points and definitely delivers its happy ending.

This book was a interesting read. It was definitely fast past read. That sucks you in and keeps you reading to the end. It felt like you were in room watching the action as it unfolds. I will definitely look forward to the authors next book.

message 132: by Mary X (new)

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 752 comments Sorry If I am the last one. I had a 5 page essay to write plus another paper. I am really bad at personal writing and that's what both these things were. If they had asked me to read War & Peace and write a 10 page report on it, I would have said Yay!. But ask me to write a 5 page essay about my leader ship skills and I'd rather stick pins in my eye.

Going to write my review now.

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 752 comments Week 2: Sway by Michael Buble

A Rogue by Any Other Name (The Rules of Scoundrels, #1) by Sarah MacLean

2/6/15

This was actually a re-listen for me, but my first time was in 2013. When I saw that I gave it 5 stars, I decided to keep listening again and I enjoyed just much this time. Again the sex scenes squicked me tad because I have a little brother who is tall with dark hair and named Michael and has a tiny blonde wife. Thankfully her name is Laura and not Penelope.

Anyway, loved Penelope. She managed to be a brave and daring heroine without crossing over the line into too stupid to live. I love the whole ice skating scene. Maybe this time I will continue with the series.

We are expecting another big storm this weekend. I might not be able to do a library run. I have another paper to finish today and some errands to run before the storm hits. So I don't have time to look yet.

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 752 comments We are supposed to get another 2" of snow dumped on us between now and Tuesday morning and then another 3" later in the week.

There is already about 4' of snow on the ground.

Wind gusts up to 30mph. So if I go AWOL, then I'm out of power.

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 752 comments I saw a few books mentioned but my library doesn't have any of those. I finished my last paper and have a week off from schoolwork. But at this point I'll probably wait until the song is picked and I know what to look for.

I like Julie James but my library doesn't have her one book from 2013.

I have books set in Wyoming but they don't get anything else.
