I just finished week one's reading last night. Who else has read this week's portion? Which character are you drawn to? What do you think of the world-building so far? Anything that really stands out to you?

I'm currently on Chapter 4 so I'm a bit more behind than where I'd like to be. Finn is still a character that I still love and I'm finding with this reread, I'm able to pick up more details than when I first read it.
With Finn's ability to change her appearance, I just now noticed that it's done with touch and when I've read books with characters that have this ability, it's normally done through thought alone.
The whole magic system and how color is such a big part of it fascinates me; I really want to try to understand more of how it works
The card game scene is one of my favorite scenes. A bit violent but Finn is A+. I feel like this being Finn and Alfie's first interaction really sets the tone for their dynamic together.
I know that both Finn and Alfie are the main characters but they really are some of my favorite characters. Yes, Finn is a badass and is a very sarcastic character but Alfie is just as sarcastic and has no problem being a smartass to Finn. And Alfie's love for his family is so nice to read and I love how you can tell how much his family cares for one another

Yes, I am loving Finn so much with this reread! I already loved her, but I am paying special attention to her backstory. So much of who she is and the decisions she makes are a consequence of her past. I did not notice that her propio magic relied on touch, very interesting.

How can you not love that first real interaction between our leads? Forget a meet cute, we love a good fight scene.
