Thank you kogijki and Larry. Maybe I'll feel better about my achievements when I can look at them more objectively.
Gail, yay for the accomplishments and the good attitude!Barb, yay and serious awe for learning to knit on the crazy needles!
Richard and Angie: Stop smoking! As a Nurse practitioner I am obligated to tell you that. If you do quit we will ALL have accomplished something. Lylly: Congrats on the job! Hope you love it.
Angela: Nurturing is an accomplishment. It matters not what you nurture (plants, kids, kidds, love of books, friends, goodreads, etc).
Some Days it is an accomplishment to just get out of bed. Other days it is a feat to stay out of it! One day/feat/accomplishment at a time
I'm going to project this accomplishment into the future, in hopes that it will be a self-fulfilling prophecy. I am/will be proud of myself if I survive the day without losing my cookies. I have never been so hungover in my life, and I feel really sick. Ugh. If someone ever asks you to drink a "Grateful Dead," you say no.
tossed cookies- like cookies and cream? stay away from Harvey wallbangers, too.
Grateful dead- great group !

Maybe it was just me, but I fell asleep at one of their shows while sitting in the fifth row at Cobo Hall in 1973.

Guess you would have been grateful to be dead.
That's wonderful, Barb. Congratulations to her and to you. There's a whole world of books waiting for her now.
Yay, contrats to Barb junior!
Managed to make it all the way through the "60 Minutes" puff piece on Taylor Swift last night without booting.
I'm not sure what was worse: Swift's squeaky clean mission to abolish bullying and messages of universal harmony or Leslie Stahl hanging on her every word with wide-eyed, fan-girl amazement.
I kept wishing for Joan Jett to crash the interview.

I know. Compared to some of the other music the twins listen to, they could do much, much worse.

I've missed this thread the last little while it seems. Belated congrats to Barb, Barbette, and smetchie. My son has had a great achievement. He decided to join the ski patrol and had to undergo rigourous training. He passed the practical exam with 98% and the written with 99% - the highest score ever at the local ski hill!

Very cool!
I've lost just under 13 lbs in the past 7 weeks! I'm pretty pleased with myself, especially since Halloween, Thanksgiving and my birthday have all occurred during that time.* Here's to 5 more by New Year's Eve and another 20 in 2012. :)
*Thanks Weight Watchers!
