I've read the first 20 (in order) and I'm racing to get through the next 4 so I can finally get to The Sentinel and see how things have changed in the hands of Andrew Child. (On that note, has anyone read any of Andrew Grant's books?)
Out of curiosity I went to YouTube to see where new readers to the series are starting and was surprised to find that there were no videos on the topic... so I made one.
I hope you don't mind me sharing it here, with sone like-minded people. I think you'll find it amusing.
I started at the first and worked my way through. Occasionally have a re-read particularly when a new one is about to surface. Have to say I don’t really like the writing partnership with his brother. I’m also not sure where the series is going. I feel at times that perhaps the end is in sight…..
I like reading them from book 1 because you get to learn about Reacher from the way Lee Child developed him. That being said, I started somewhere in the middle, jumped around and then went back and started the series from the beginning. Because his adventures are so contained, you really can’t go wrong.
Funny enough, I had read "Killing Floor" when it first came out, then didn't look for a follow-up. I hadn't remembered the author's name, so I didn't pick up the series until 61 Hours. Lee Child has said in a recent masterclass that he writes books in such a way that you can join up without having to start at the beginning. I have jumped back and forth in the series as I find them.
