Bartender, an Ale for Mistress Kiki!

What brings you to our Kingdom?

Kelly (ladykatala) | 5020 comments Hello, just letting everyone know that I'm beginning the re-organization of the rules/quests/monsters. Feel free to let me know what you like/don't like and we'll see if we can get to a better organization.

My plan is to re-arrange everything then write up a "Getting Started" thread to point people in the right direction.

Reva (revans) | 2481 comments Constructing any facility should result in some reward-- gold, experience points, potion etc. I have in mind the Kitchen. More recipes.

You can see how few bought into it.

Give the Falcon some other purpose. I think I'm the only one to use mouse balls and drop bear steaks.

More puppy stuff would be good.

Enhance the other pets is always good.

I'm sure I'll think of more. :-)

Plaguebringer is going down this month soooo...... There can never be enough monsters.

message 4707: by Reva (new)

Reva (revans) | 2481 comments The mods need to be more proactive in attracting more players or perhaps re-enticing those who dropped out earlier in the game.

Emails, incentives-- game levellers for newbies. Etc

message 4708: by Reva (new)

Reva (revans) | 2481 comments Your monsters post looks ok.

Perhaps links to some of the players' battles-- particularly those who attacked with less strength than I did.

Reva (revans) | 2481 comments Potions can be built by books fulfilling the scrounger list. It's not really a quest when one book builds a potion.

Be specific re what heals: rabbits yield eggs for 3 HP / week
Bed yields 1 HP
Sheets yield 1-3 HP ETC
Orb
Stones

The monster thread is o.k. No monster is missing.

Reva has a good idea about links to "sample" battles. Sometimes esp when it comes to rare monsters, it's hard to figure out how all the artefacts, pets and objects affect the outcome.

If I may have a suggestion for a future update: It would be nice to have more than 1 timed monster. What about a monster that is available once a month?

re Potions and Healing thread:
I second that. It would be nice to add a list of all the ways to gain HPs, not only quests and potions.

Health Gem
Activated Green Gem
Orb of Water
Rocky LVL 2
Rabbit
Bed
Sheet LVL 1 - 3
Potions - Jack's store (in exchange for money), Scrounger lists (in exchange for books), various quests
Quests - Everybody Lies, A Nap is Always a Good Idea
Mercenaries - Lady Ysmay
Healing by spelling out "healing words" (1 HP for 1 book)

I'm sure I forgot something. ;)

message 4713: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca (rebeccasg) | 3799 comments The monster section looks good! It will even help me a lot as I like to refer back and always seem to miss something while I'm scrolling.

I 'third' the suggestion to have a list of HP gainers.

message 4714: by Reva (new)

Reva (revans) | 2481 comments I suggest that you have the members write a "how to get the most out of the game" blurb. From the players perspective. Or cobble together something from the suggestions already made in the Tavern. Zuzana's comments on the cost effectiveness of heal points vs potions vs stuff made in the kitchen comes to mind, staff vs sword etc.

If you're a big reader vs a small reader. Etc

message 4715: by Reva (new)

Reva (revans) | 2481 comments "Potions may be used during or after battle. They do not replace your turn during battle and as many potions as you want can be used at any time."

You might want to add:

They can also be used to duplicate books (Duplication Potion) or to change the spoils of battle (such as goblin bones to rat tails with the Transmogrification Potion).

Reva (revans) | 2481 comments books with food on the cover.

Does this include beverages such as wine, tea or coffee?

Teresa (teresab78) | 1658 comments Is there still a limit on how many potions we can buy at once?

Planning on the additional monster types, just haven't gotten there yet.

I'll look over all your comments and update things, it may just not happen right away. I'm also planning on filling out the FAQ but it will take some time.

Welcome Maria. Pull up a stool and have an ale. We're always happy to see new faces in the Tavern. How did you find us?

message 4742: by Reva (last edited Jan 01, 2016 04:15AM) (new)

Reva (revans) | 2481 comments Kelly,

A small request. Would you please move the Tavern to the top of the Quest topic folder? It saves having to scroll down to see if anyone is there or has a question. The iPhone is worse than the iPad.

Also the two markets. Since these 3 seem to be the busiest places.

Many thanks.

Thanks! Happy to be here. I was looking for reading challenges and have been a part of this group for about a year, but was always too shy to participate. But with the new year upon us, I figured, now's the chance!

message 4744: by Maria (a) (new)

Maria (a) | 32 comments One question, if I may: would comics count for these challenges? I know books need to have at least 100 pages, so issues are obviously excluded, but trades are usually over a 100 pages.

message 4745: by Kelly (new)

Kelly (ladykatala) | 5020 comments Comics/graphic novels count for this challenge.

I wanted to be sure. Thanks for ALL that you do. ;-)

just binging out on The Walking Dead Marathon. I love that show.

I wish they would do the same for The Sons of Anarchy. I have never got into that show and it's been on too long to get invested now but if I could start at the beginning....sigh
