Anyone willing to sell one to me ;)

You need both a house and a bed first, Rebecca.

I used find items potions (I had a bunch) and the hat hat. Only took 8 rat tails to get mid quality. Still have one more upgrade.
✓ Give the tailor 10 rat tails for a Low Quality Sheet(Restores 1 HP every Sunday)
Use [+1] Find Items Potion
5/10 rat tails
7/10 rat tails -- + 2 rat tails 10/26/15
9/10 rat tails -- + 2 rat tails 11/4/15
10/10 rat tails -- + 1 rat tail 11/11/15
✓ Give the tailor another 20 rat tails to upgrade to a Mid Quality Sheet. (Restores 2 HP every Sunday)
Use [+1] Find Items Potion
10/20 rat tails
Use [+1] Find Items Potion
15/20 rat tails
16/20 rat tails -- + 1 rat tail 11/11/15
Use [+1] Find Items Potion
18/20 rat tails
20/20 rat tails -- +2 rat tails 11/20/15

Wahhhh. Anyone wanna rent a small room to me and my pets?

For the warm RUG, you need a horse.

Did everyone get questions answered that they were looking for?

This is what I did re tails:
[
The local tailor has offered up his services to weave together the finest of rat tail sheets. He has warned that the more provided the better quality sheets he can make. The finest weave comes from only the highest quality of rat tails. You sigh just thinking of the comfort.
Requires Bed.
1 Find items potion 10 / 2 = 5 -1 orb = 4
✓. Give the tailor (with orb) 4 rat tails for a Low Quality Sheet. (Restores 1 HP every Sunday) DONE 1/10/2015
1 Find items potion 20 / 2 = 10 -1 orb = 9
✓. Give the tailor another 9 (with orb) rat tails to upgrade to a Mid Quality Sheet. (Restores 2 HP every Sunday). DONE 23/10/2015
1 Find items potion 30 / 2 = 15 -1 orb = 14
✓Give the tailor another 14 (with orb) rat tails to upgrade to a High Quality Sheet. (Restores 3 HP every Sunday) DONE 23/10/2015

LVL 1 sheet: 4 rat tails
LVL 2: 9 rat tails
LVL 3: 14 tails
Kelly, can you confirm that the general rule for using Find item Potion and the Orb of Air is DIVISION FIRST (/2) and THEN SUBTRACTION (-1)?
Morgan, I thought that we can't stack Find item potions. I thought that we can use it only once per a quest or in this case once per a lvl, i.e. one Find Item Potion for getting each lvl of the sheet. Kelly, what do you think? Morgan used total of 3 Find Item Potions and 3 rat tails to get LVL 2 sheet. Is it o.k.? If so it opens new possibilities for Find item potion use.

"In general apply the Orb of Air before you apply the find items potion.
So if it asks for 9 items you'd reduce it by one then cut it in half rather than the other way around. "

I was intending it once per quest. (I'm ok with once per level in this case). The bug quest had specifically mentioned that the potion could be stacked.

1/ You can't stack Find item potions unless it's stated in the quest description. You can use it only once per quest or if the quests have several levels then once per level.
2/ If you combine the orb of Air and the Find item potion then the rule that always applies is that Subtraction (-1) goes before Division, i.e.
sheet LVL 1: (10-1)/2= 5 rat tails
sheet LVL 2: (20-1)/2= 10 rat tails
sheet LVL 3: (30-1)/2= 15 rat tails
so in this case the orb has no effect at all.
Kelly, did I get it right?

I just thought it went as it says on the tin. :/ Poo.
I only used one for the bug quest. :P
Guess I need to redo that one -- can I reallocate the books I traded for a couple of those potions (returning the potions)?

I plan to "buy" a house, a bed and a lvl 1 sheet today and I really needed to know.

Depends on whether it's odd or even number requested.

Good luck with yours....I'm going to go fiddle with mine. lol.

Yes.

Thanks for the answer Kelly. And what a great idea about a FAQ thread. :D

Yeah, I just took yes you can stack find items as across the board when it was asked if they could stack. Didn't read the fine print!
I have books and things to find slots for today anyway so easy fix to rehome others or save the potions.

Zuzana, do you need any specific reading help?

I won't spend money buying books, but I'm not adverse to buying items. So once I get a slingshot expect me knocking on your door trying to persuade you to sell me some acorns. ;)

My new house, my new comfy bed and a lovely LVL 1 sheet (blanket) to go with it. ;) YAY!

Now I have a place of my own I need to get myself a puppy. A cute little beagle (like the one we have in RL). If all goes well I'll get one in a month or so.

So I rehomed one potion to be used on the next level of sheets once I get that far.
But looking towards the ♡A Nap is Always a Good Idea♡ quest -- you would be able to use one Find Items potion there for one of the items, but not more than that. Correct?
I think I'm going to just move the spare potion there, but don't want to add more than that without asking. ;) I'm assuming no though since there aren't levels just multiple items.

I'm afraid that unless Kelly greenlights Find Item Potion for the Nap quest it's a no go. There has to be "(Find Items Potion works for this quest.)" in the quest description and unless I missed it it's not there.

Congrats Zuzana!

How are you all doing with the game? What are your short-time goals? How far do you plan in advance? I'm always curious about other people's tactics.
BTW I plan to raise my attack power (get my staff to levels 11, 12, 13 + get a puppy and train it to attack), then I'll kill the rest of the rocks to level up my Rocky to LVL 2. After that it's a nice shiny bauble for my staff and Alchemy That quest to unlock Pet Plus Potion. Once I get all that and a couple or so heal potions I'll be ready to tackle the Hydra. Anyway it will take me several months - I estimate March or April.

In the meantime I am battling Rocks to level up.
I also hope to get my slingshot at some point as it will help defeat hydra Wrath easier.
I am debating on buying the HatHat or the Cat with my limited gold or spending it on potions.

My short term goals change almost weekly. There are so many good things out there that I re-evaluate and change things up a lot.
I want to go for a house, kitchen, bed etc. eventually, but they take so many books that I've been shying away. I want to attack some of the big monsters, but I need to buy a ton of heal potions and up my attack.
Would it be worth it to get all those fun things and help my hp heal faster? I can't decide.
My immediate goals are upping my sword twice and getting my level 2 Rock. Unfortunately I need heal potions for that too. I think I need to level up my max HP too.
I want a dog to help with attack and fetch my goals.
.....see I am so lost haha!! I hope this challenge never ends I'll be on here until I'm 90 years old!

I'm undecided on the Hat Hat. There is a huge demand for rat tails (for the sheets and nap quests) and the Hat Hat would be a great help with that. Still, I don't have enough cash and to divert my books towards midas quests or classifieds would delay my hydra slaying plans.
I love cats in RL but this one is just too expensive book-wise (it's about 20 books for 2 APs only once at the beginning of the battle).
The slingshot could make a difference. I plan to get one but not in the immediate future.

Same here, same here. :D

I'm willing to conserve my strength (health) before I slay the rest of the rocks but it takes time. I don't want to waste my heal potions, I need them to tackle the bigger baddies. But doing what I can the rocks will cost me at least two heal potions, i.e. 4 books in the Scrounger Hunt quest.

Slowly but surely is my strategy right now.

Short-term plan is to finish the 2 books for my house this month so I can work on the bed & sheets, finish the books to get my puppy and the bauble for my staff at least. Then need to focus on getting some more potions so I can go after some more baddies :) I know there are 1 or 2 heads for the Hydra where it's better when the weapons are lower, so they'll be first. Then will slowly need to level up my weapons to work on the bigger monsters!

I try to 'focus' on a few things, but I don't usually choose books to fit since I read so much. Right now I need to read one book for my bunny, a few more for staff bauble, one more to level up my staff again, and I think 3-4 to finish training my puppy to attack. I'm also waiting for one more fish book to finish up the cat's training. (Then probably start tackling the second 5 levels of the rock pet.)
I just like the fun of finishing something and then turning around to see where all it might fit in the quests.

The house is sitting in the background. It doesn't seem like anything I read really fits the goals.
Level 2 rock is also waiting because its hits are getting pretty tough, but I'll get it eventually.
