The Local Tavern

The fact that I get to continue this adventure into the next year is the main reason I decided to take the plunge. :)

Ooh, I like the sound of this!

It wasn't really in the plans to have one of those on a monthly basis. I do plan to do more but they'll be on a more varying time frame. I tried to provide other methods of getting potions like the new trolls and the buy using gold.

Sorry I can't help it. Just waiting I til Friday to catch the boost to HP from some attacks and get the benefits from the Sunday stuff
Future suggestion: something to let us use the rug more than once in a battle.

The books used for the classified ads are only used for those right? I assume they can't be used for both quests AND for the classified. I know that each book can only be used once for quests, so I figure that's the same for the classified right? Once used for a classified ad they can't be used for a quest book and the other way around, right?
If this is horribly obvious and already been answered, I apologize - coming in late has left me trying to catch up with all the rules and such. :)

Yep. You can use it only once.

I treated them like the Swarm and only used 1.

I gave you potion tokens! Pfft. Sure, sure, focus on the hard part not all the lovely gifts *mutters to herself*

I have another question about attacking the Swarm or the queens: every turn you have to choose which monster of the pack you attack. What if you have a queen of hearts with only 5 hp, and lets say a queen of spades with 30 hp. Your ap is 20. If you attack the queen of hearts, she's dead but what happens with the rest of your ap, 15 here, do they apply against the queen of spades, i.e. she has 30-15=15 hp now, or they don't apply at all and i have to attack her in the next round where she has all of her 30 hp?

Your question is confusing. The only thing that changes your attack points from strike 1 would be the loss of cat. If you're using the growing strength potion it would change from +1 in strike 1 to + 2 in strike 2.
Other changes occur when you reduce say, 100 HP WITH YOUR ATTACK.
What does reduce is Your Hero's Health by the combined attack of the queens. 50 or 50/2 = 25 (with Shied Potion). The only time the Queen's attack reduces is when you kill off a queen.
You can only attack 1 Queen at a time.
You can only use the rug once.
In that case, your attack of 20 is the same against EACH creature.

And we thank you very much for your generosity.
However, all 10 of the potion tokens are needed to defeat the queen. So they don't last very long :-(

Also must they all be different oils for each task? Or could we use bay oil on a cover AND spell it out?

I would have the same opinion about the swarm for the poison potion. I looked back and couldn't see any place where I contradicted that statement :P but let me know if I did say something contrary.
Any leftover attack on the attack where a queen dies is lost. So if a queen has 5 attack points left it takes your whole swing of 20 attack points to finish her off. You can't use the remaining 15 on another queen.
Does that answer the question?

Hehe. We have plans for next month forming already :P No fears.

Must be different oils but you don't need to include oil in the text or the word found in the book/title. (e.g. "She ran around the rosemary bush" would work for rosemary.)

In any case I presented two options how the attack (without the area of attack) could go. Personally I believe that the second option, the one less favourable to heroes, is the right one.
Anyway, Kelly might read my question and decipher what I meant. If not I'll explain in detail tomorrow.

To simplify things we count the poison as +2 to our attack power and it works fine if you BOTH use it at the beginning of the first round AND you attack a single animal.
Kelly confirmed that you can poison only one animal at time, if you attack a pack of monsters you can deduct those 2 extra points only from health of the poisoned monster.
Is it right, Kelly?

True. But I'd probably be mean and make a one bauble at a time rule ;)

As long as they weren't crazy hard to get each one quest-wise, I would still see it worth it to obtain a few and have options.

It would have to be an awesome bauble to top the Growth Weapon Enhancement bauble. It blows the minor poison potion out of the water.
This bauble is a game changer. Forget houses or rabbits or puppies, this should be your FIRST priority for both your weapons.

YEP! At first I thought it was a one-time use only thing...but it's not. It's amazing!
For "Read a book where something exists that no one believes in" can I use Library of Souls? There are peculiar children with special abilities that I think the "normals" don't believe.
Also, for "Read a book with something metallic on the cover" would the crown on the cover of

"Today, gears are used on a daily basis. They are found nearly everywherein clocks, cars, odometers, scales, conveyor systems, meters and VCRs, just to name a few examples. Manufacturing companies rely on several various sizes of gears for production. Gears are also found in most mechanical devices."
Also bicycles :)

I was over-thinking it, and doubting it. So much easier just to ask :) That opens up even more possibilities yay!
