Kelly, I have a Rocky the Pet question:After reaching LVL 2 (10 pebbles) does Rocky BOTH heal 1 HP after every battle AND subtracts 1 AP of any creature? Or does he lose the LVL 1 ability (subtracts 1 AP)?
Reva wrote: "I thought that he keeps both."I hope he does but it's worded that it could go either way.
I'm trying to get November update done but things are a bit crazy right now.Plans for new normalize monster, purple gem rare and first shield quest.
Any other requests? :)

Kelly, can we have a quest similar to Everybody Lies, please? Something that would help us to max our health between leveling up. Or some gadget similar to the above mentioned Health Gem?
Maybe another equipment/furniture for the house or a saddle or some other nice stats booster for our horses?
Kelly wrote: "He keeps both abilities"
Thanks, I hoped it might be so. :
I'll think on the furniture update. Those ones are tricky to balance.I was thinking maybe doing baubles to add to your weapons to give them effects or stat boosts. Thoughts?
I'm almost finished getting my puppy and the beginning obedience....now do I want to work on fetching 1 coin a week, or 1 attack?! Too many choices.
RebeccaS wrote: "I'm almost finished getting my puppy and the beginning obedience....now do I want to work on fetching 1 coin a week, or 1 attack?! It may save you a heal potion or two.
Personally I went for combat first then fetch.
You know what they say...You can never be too rich, too skinny or have too much Attack Strength. ;-)

Never enough attack strength really!
I think I will go with attack. My first thought was to go for the free coin ever week (I will probably not make a big attack for a couple months). But for 10 books I think it's more worth it for me to get the extra attack since I only have a level 7 sword.

I was going to level up my staff a bit next! Not sure on long term plans beyond that and the relay race.
since you made the dog so awesome I suggest an update for our cat they can be trained as well just takes a bit longer
since you mentioned not carrying the books read over to next year. How about a potion that allows us to take a book over to next year
If we can't carry over books to next year.... What if we're in the middle of working on a quest? Will we have to start over. Starting to worry about that as the year is coming to a close quickly!!!
Mary wrote: "since you mentioned not carrying the books read over to next year. How about a potion that allows us to take a book over to next year"I guess I missed that one. :-(
Congrats Zee & Alyssa! Very exciting :DWait what?!?! Crap I have some books in Reserve that I want to use later to level up my Staff but am not ready for it yet... Please say it isn't so!!!
There will be a few people with their knickers in a knot if we lose the unassigned books after December 31.
Found Kelly's post (#4011):I think we're going to keep it going. I think we'd lose a lot of our players if they had to start over since they're just now working their way up to the Great Novel Dragon.
I'll probably cut off using books from previous years just to keep it reasonable to jump into the game.
I don't think it's concrete yet but something Kelly mentioned she might do.
I guess it depends on what qualifies. If we have 50% of the books for the next level sword or staff, do we loose those books or only those unassigned books in the infinite tote?
I hope you're just overreacting. If you re-read Kelly's statement (the bold part)it could very well mean only that new players won't be able to use books from previous years because it would make the game ubercomplicated for somebody unfamiliar with the rules. There's nothing about old players other than that Kelly believes lots of them would stop playing if they had to start over every year. (I really hope I'm reading it right!)

BTW HAPPY HALLOWEEN guys!
Yea that's how I initially understood it as well (when I first read Kelly's post), but everyone's comments had me re-thinking it. When you read something over and over again, your mind starts to see it in different ways :P You can read it as - cutting it off for new players due to the complication it would cause, or to cut it off for older players to allow newer players to catch up.We'll just have to wait until Kelly chimes in!
I'd like to slay the Rocks (at least the first five of them) to get Rocky the Pet. Could you please check if I have the APs and HPs right? Rock #1: 1 AP, 5 HP
Rock #2: 3 AP, 10 HP
Rock #3: 5 AP, 15 HP
Rock #4: 7 AP, 20 HP
Rock #5: 9 AP, 25 HP
Initially I thought it's obvious how they should be counted but now I've noticed that some of the heroes did it differently (and saved some HPs). My health is quite low and I'd hate to waste any HPs unnecessarily.
EDIT: Additional Rocky the Pet question: I also noticed that some people use Rocky the Pet as a +1 AP (to the hero) in their battles. I'd just like to point out that it should be - 1 AP to the monster, NOT + 1 AP to the hero. Those are two totally different things and they affect the battles in a different way. Thanks to +1 AP to the hero hero would kill the monster quicker (might even reduce the number of attacks the monster manages to inflict), - 1 AP to the monster means that the monster would inflict less damage but it won't let you to kill it any quicker.
Again, did I get it wrong? Because if I did then it's good news and YAY for me. +1 AP to the hero is def better than - 1 AP to monsters esp when battling Jabberwocky and some of the hydras.
Now I'm thinking that Kelly's comment did apply to new players only. That would be fair so they couldn't jump in with a ton of books and be able to complete a bunch of stuff super quickly.I can't imagine we would lose all our unused books from this year.... But maybe that's wishful thinking.

I don't have a problem with using only books read in 2016.
I guess it hinges on the definition of what constitutes a used book. If the quest HAS to be 100% complete, I suppose there will be a lot of last minute scrambling and a lot of swords and staff leveling up.

It just heals 1 hp when you earn it (it means just once) and then permanently increases your max hp by 1.
I asked that question here way back.
