The Thesaurus

The Thesaurus is a terrible treasure seeking dinosaur who feasts upon words like ants upon a sweet meatball. This dinosaur fears unusual words because it cannot find anything similar to them! Each round you may throw an unusual word at the monster to reduce its attack by half. Throwing a word uses the book and only one word may be used per book.

My original attack took 4 books but stacking the damage and enhanced potions, the Real rock and acorns cut it down to 3.

I didn't want to wait to build up my Hero's HP since the potions would be expiring by the weekend.

For those of us just now getting a horse/any pets - does the all player event plague outbreak effect us? Do I have to turn around and heal my brand new horse as soon as I get it, or will he be good to go? I'm pretty sure it says I have to heal it, but I wanted to double check.

The Pet Plus Potion needs to be "unlocked" first with the Alchemy That! quest - here is the link on the Notice Board (August quest). You take the potion at the beginning of the battle and it doubles the effects of your pets for the week which is awesome!

BTW for future Thesaurus fights if you read in a language other than English, unusual words from that language are just as valid. I just didn't have a handy link to a website displaying odd words in all languages.

Once you complete the ALCHEMY QUEST, you can make Extra Pet Plus Potions by assembling 4 items in the scrounger list or by purchasing one from the store for 12 GOLD.

I want to clarify about the Rock -

The first time I attack the Rock, the Rock has 1 Attack and 5 Health... which means even I can take him out with one hit.

After this he gets more difficult, I get that, but do I get the 10 exp, 3 Gold, and 1 pebble for that first easy hit? Or is that reward for once I've hit him all 5 or 10 times?

I know I read a long time ago something about the wait time between kills for monsters but I can't remember it. I know for Common Monsters (rats, goblins) it is 1 week between kills unless you sacrifice 1 book to do it sooner. Is that the same for Rare Monsters or Uncommon Monsters?

You get the reward for each rock you kill :) It's supposed to be something everyone can do at least a few levels of.

Rare monsters are ones where there only exists 1. Uncommon are number limited monsters. Neither has a time limit because they're limited in number instead.

I usually wait until I can go after at least two monsters. That way it's worth assembling the necessary potions since they last a week.

Attacking first on a Saturday allows a faster recovery on Sunday. Getting the rabbit, bed, sheets and rock are important.

Can I just confirm how the health gem works? I've so far been adding one hp onto my health continuously (eg. I have 15 + 1 hp, lose three so now I have 12 + 1) is this correct? Or does it just heal 1 hp when you earn it and then permanently increase your max hp by 1? (So as a level 7 hero my max hp is 23 rather than 22)

The health gem from the academy quest adds 1 to your max hp and heals 1 hp at the point at which you get it. So if you're at 15/18 hp you now have 16/19 hp.

The Orb of Water heals 1 at the end of each battle.
