Rebecca (rebeccasg) | 3799 comments Okay I am absolutely terrible with geography. I want to work on my house for the EXP points.

Where in the world are "the plains"? I know the mid-west of American has plains, but not exactly sure what states. Or are there any plains throughout the world?

Haha I know this is pathetic.

Alberta and Saskatchewan Provinces in Canada

Yeah well I need a whole fistful of potions if I'm to attack the Jabberwocky. Can we expect the caravan to return in July assuming we get the cures done. Have you posted them all? Books will be finished hopefully Saturday. Winter dragons either next week or the following week. Bones and wings in likely 2 weeks.

Well, not your usual reading material. :)
But there are some interesting fanfictions :P

message 3339: by Teresa (new)

Teresa (teresab78) | 1658 comments Oh, Fantasy and Sci-fi was my staple before I discovered M/M (now I love fantasy and sci-fi M/M) so I should have read LOR and the hobbit long before now. I loved the movies, especially the old animated films. I don't like fanfic however. I don't know what it is, but I don't like alternate realities of beloved tv shows, movies or books. There have been a few exceptions of fanfics I liked, but generally it is from a show I've never seen.

My family is obsessed with the books and movies. I think they can quote all of them. So compared to them I am WAY LATE to the party.

I read the The Hobbit and LOVED IT. I also listened to the audiobook of The Fellowship of the Ring and really enjoyed it too, but I can definitely tell these are more dark and serious.

I will be getting to The Two Towers sometime soon I hope!

Tea - It's been a couple years since I read TFOTR so I may need to ask you some questions when I get back to it ;)

I saw all the movies and even the animated ones (obsessed family obviously owns them), but I forget most of what happens. I can remember the moving trees...

message 3342: by Zuzana (new)

Zuzana | 2570 comments I LOVE the movies. I bought extended editions and watch them anytime I feel low.

I read the books after FOTR movie came out. I simply needed to know what happened next. Loved the books as well.

Ok, I was never that much of fan :)

My reading of books usually is followed with movie marathon (extended versions). And that means after each book! I'm little nuts I know.
With Hobbit (those are not extended) it's about 20h

You been to an all-nighter cinema showing of the films?
Him indoors has - and is on the mailling list for the next time they do that (IMAX in London). Whilst I love the books, being trapped in an IMAX for 12 hours watching the films is not my idea of fun!

Well, unless you are chucking in good food & alcohol as a bribe. and don't mind if I bring a kindle to read quietly...
