Sara | 1294 comments Kelly, I was wondering if this book could work to cure my Squirrell? Just in case.

Sara, so far the squirrel has yielded, as yet, useless acorns. Don't waste a book or your time. From what was said previously, the group attacks on Civets are taking the place of the cures.

The only animals of real consequence are the horse, rabbit and cat.

I suggest that we see how this plays out before committing to cures.

Actually I was thinking the same, Reva, but wondering just in case. It's just a 100+ pages book afterall, but I know that acorns/nuts are pretty useless at the moment.
Probably I just want to accomplish anything as I'm rather bored at the moment, with no goblins/bats killing and just reading for quests to gain EXP ;)

Of course I'm participating :) Add me to 1 per week

message 2905: by Nancy (new)

Nancy (nancyhelen) | 1469 comments I could really do with the additional XP - at the rate I am going, increasing 1 XP a week, the whole game will be over before I've reached the next level. So I am going to try and do a bit of strategising to see whether I can join in the civet hunt for 1 a week. Although I may not get on to it until I get a few more books under my belt.

Best to level up your sword or staff. I suspect that civets are only the first of other world animals to come. The stonger your attack capability, the greater likelihood of contributing to future group efforts. :-)

100/24= 4.16 weeks

With Theresa 7 Paper Civets per week

100/31= 3.22 weeks. Getting better!

I'm sure we can bring this average down.

NancyHelen let us know when you are ready. All help greatfully received. :-)

I fear I won't manage to level up my sword until next month or so only as I need thicker books now for it (600+ pages mainly), so my plan is to work on a few quests first to get the EXP I need for a Level 6 Hero and then focus on my sword. However I'd be glad to help with killing a couple Civets too so we'll see :)

message 2913: by Zuzana (new)

Zuzana | 2570 comments Oh, great job, Mary. :-)

BTW I did the same thing I held onto all those books until the last possible moment and then upgraded 2 or 3 levels at once. Great feeling leveling up, on the other hand it leaves one's tote strangely depleted.

message 2916: by Zuzana (new)

Zuzana | 2570 comments 3 weeks that sounds much better than the original estimate of 6-7. Now we need to get Katie to sign up for 7 cipets a week and the number will get even better.

Diane ~Firefly~ | 2438 comments I can kill 2 civets before I run out of hit points. I'm also working on upgrading my staff to level 8, so possibly more depending on how long it takes.

Cait S | 2825 comments The randomizer has never liked me much but I'll keep my fingers crossed. I've been moving some things around a bit in my plan and I think I might be able to swing 2 or 3 of the civets. I haven't done Everybody Lies Yet so if I just take out as many as I can and then power through that quest, I shouldn't have to use any potions to get back up after.

Reva (revans) | 2481 comments Congrats Cait. Maybe the mods would consider horses and other animals born in quarantine to be plague free and usable for their qualities -- thus helping the newer players and not penalizing them?

Kelly (ladykatala) | 5020 comments Reva wrote: "Congrats Cait. Maybe the mods would consider horses and other animals born in quarantine to be plague free and usable for their qualities -- thus helping the newer players and not penalizing them?"

There were quite a few people who got their animals right before the plague struck so I feel like that would be unfair to them. This way everyone's in the same boat. Plus those who get their animals now were aware of the plague when they got them. The plague won't last forever.

I sure hope we'll get horses or bunnies cured first. One of those and I'll be happy to cure squirrels/cats/falcons next eventhough I don't have any of those myself.

message 2941: by Reva (new)

Reva (revans) | 2481 comments We seem to be averaging 7 dead civets a day 100 / 7 = 14 days if we can keep up this momentum.

message 2942: by Zuzana (last edited Jun 20, 2015 03:31AM) (new)

Zuzana | 2570 comments Tomorrow for sure, the new week's starting on Sunday and all who signed up for 1 kill per week are gonna kill their second civet.

I'm afraid though that we'll slow down a bit during next week. It's bound to happen as people with lower LVL weapons slowly deplete their health points.

Reva (revans) | 2481 comments Too bad they closed the Caravan. Since the tavern is open, I wonder if I simply left books behind if others could pick them up. If it would help some level their weapons I'd donate to the cause. I'd just need to know who needs what. What do you think?

Book Crossing / Little Free Library style?! I like your thinking!

message 2945: by Zuzana (last edited Jun 20, 2015 03:28AM) (new)

Zuzana | 2570 comments Reva, I was thinking about it, too. The caravan won't come. So what?! It shouldn't affect the Open Market IMO. It's the part where no merchants are needed, heroes do bussiness between themselves.

I would restrict it to the time frame of the caravan though - the last week of the month. A separate thread would be needed, too. And we'll have to wait if Kelly and Tea approve the idea. Can't have anarchy, can we?

I don't know. We had no advanced warning of the plague. A little anarchy might be a good thing. The 23 or 24 would be around the time the Caravan would have started.
