My parent's took our rabbit to a breeder once when I was small. I'm sure I didn't know what was going on at the time but he had hundreds of rabbits in cages in his backyard. The baby bunnies are ridiculously cute.

I do admit to feeling a bit flustered with the latest

now off to rearrange my reading LOL

message 2854: by Kelly (new)

Kelly (ladykatala) | 5020 comments no need to re-arrange reading. Dr. Cottage is still planning on making an announcement tonight.

Doctor Cottage steps into the tavern and clears his throat.

"Ahem. If everyone would like to head over to my cottage, I have some announcements to make regarding the plague."

I wonder how many heroes will/can participate so we can estimate how long till the cure.

message 2861: by Reva (new)

Reva (revans) | 2481 comments There's about 15-20 active players

message 2862: by Kelly (new)

Kelly (ladykatala) | 5020 comments Each request from Dr Cottage will be different and focus on different areas so even if you can't do much on one, another might fit you more closely.

message 2863: by Zuzana (last edited Jun 17, 2015 10:29PM) (new)

Zuzana | 2570 comments I wonder how often can they participate. See Teresa. I have no idea how many heroes have 10 AP weapons (without the horse bonus).

I would be happy if we could reach the cure in 2-3 weeks. Is it realistic? What do you think, Reva?

message 2864: by Reva (new)

Reva (revans) | 2481 comments Here's my Quick Lies submission:

Jordan, a young widower with 3 rambunctious sons was at his wits end. How was he supposed to cope at home and run his Masonry business at the same time?

His thoughts turned to the previous night where he had met a young gentlewoman named Rose at the Guildhall Celebration. She was neatly dressed and while no beauty, had a quiet countenance. She was in the village visiting her married sister and was going to depart for home in a few days.

Dare he offer her a position of Nanny?  Meeting Rose the next day he did just that.

If I Stay , she said, there have to be a few rules. I'll only do light housekeeping along with caring for your sons. Regarding any personal attraction that might develop between us due to our sharing the same roof I have A Single Demand . I'm a virtuous maid. There will be no kissing, no fondling, no Secret Seduction. If such as that happens, Consider me a Virgin Bought and Paid for and we would have to be married at once or risk unacceptable scandal.

Jordan agreed to her conditions and asked her to proceed him into the house to meet his children. Eyeing her gently swaying backside and trim figure, he thought maybe a little seduction and marriage might happen sooner than she thought.

Nancy (nancyhelen) | 1469 comments Oh, I can't quite kill a Paper Civet yet...hmm, if I get my first level of Everybody Lies done, that will give me 2 Heal Potions, one which I can use to go on a Paper Civet hunt, and the other I can store just in case this infernal plague hangs around. I'll be back...

Well, I might be shooting myself in the leg here. But my advice to you, NancyHelen, is to think twice before you waste the potion on the Paper Civet. I can imagine that under certain circumstances it would be better to store the potion (for the cure or for other use).

message 2868: by Nancy (new)

Nancy (nancyhelen) | 1469 comments Thank you for the advice. As I am discovering, heal potions are not easy to come by and health is a luxury. I blame my poor health on too much drunken debauchery in the various kingdom taverns and several minor skirmishes with some rats :-(

I agree with Zuzana save your heal potions for more important battles. Who knows when the Caravan will return. There are plenty of us around who can one-shot the Civet with no damage to HP.

Alex | 1018 comments I actually really like the idea of collaborative working. I can't one-shot paper civets but I'd like to kill a couple to help out.

message 2872: by Cait S (new)

Cait S | 2825 comments Apologizing up front to everyone because I can't one hit these things and I'm not going to waste my healing potions on this. Sorry. I'm sitting this one out. We'll see what the other tasks are, I guess. Thank you to those taking them out.

message 2873: by Cathy (new)

Cathy Galloway | 876 comments I can help out a little, but they're not one shot for me without my cat.

Cute story Reva!

message 2874: by Zuzana (new)

Zuzana | 2570 comments Thanks, Cathy!

Guys, do you know any other heroes with 10 AP weapons? Maybe they don't know about the latest development. We could PM them to let them know about the civets - they are cheap source of xp afterall.

message 2875: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca (rebeccasg) | 3799 comments I can't one shot them either. I'll try and help out, but without my bunny...I don't know how many I'll be able to kill.

message 2876: by Reva (last edited Jun 18, 2015 06:10AM) (new)

Reva (revans) | 2481 comments If you're going to lose major HP then leave the battles to those who can one shot these suckers.

Under no circumstances should anyone waste precious heal potions.

It may take a few extra days to lift the plague, so spend that time leveling up your hero or weapons or completing quests to make you stronger for the next surprise down the line -- and you know there WILL be other surprises. :-)

And thanks Cathy.

message 2877: by Zuzana (last edited Jun 18, 2015 06:17AM) (new)

Zuzana | 2570 comments Well, my advice:

if you have a 5-9 AP weapon, a few HPs to spare (5 or more to be precise), and you do want to help to lift the plague

kill one civet, you'll lose 4 HP but you'll get 2XP for that, not a bad bargain IMO.

If you plan to kill more than one, do it at the pace of one civet a week. That way you'll get 2XP for every attack.

message 2878: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca (rebeccasg) | 3799 comments Exactly Zuzuana. The extra Exp point makes it even more enticing! I can definitely do 1 a week and a had 18 HP so I have some time to kill them before I'm close to dead.

message 2879: by Alex (new)

Alex | 1018 comments That was my plan - a civet a week at the same time as I kill my rats. I'll lose some health but less than when I go after bats and goblins.

I'm doing my bit! I even decided to kill the Blue Dragon for the Orb of Water = double rewards absolutely worth using most of my heal potions now! Just need to get finish the academy history quest to get another heal potion now...

message 2881: by Teresa (new)

Teresa (teresab78) | 1658 comments I will try to level up my staff asap. My plan has shorter books so it shouldn't take too long :)

message 2882: by Cait S (new)

Cait S | 2825 comments Is the caravan not coming back until all of the animal types are healed?

message 2883: by Emily (new)

Emily I regret that I am unable to help kill Civets at this time. :(

I'm just a lowly Level 3 Hero with a Level 3 Sword, and only 2 HP left. I'm somewhat close to leveling up, so if I can replenish my HP before the Civets are all taken care of, I will do what I can.

Until then, I will stay here at the tavern, offering to buy a drink to anyone who comes in thirsty after a tough-fought Civet battle.

message 2884: by Zuzana (new)

Zuzana | 2570 comments Catherine, that's the way to go. The orb of water is a super useful item to have.

When you're going after the Blue dragon try to use minor health and health potions (if you have them) instead of major health potions for extra 5 AP damage to the dragon. It helps quite a lot.

message 2885: by Zuzana (new)

Zuzana | 2570 comments Cait, it seems so. But frankly I don't believe it. At this pace, the healing would take at least 2-3 months (and I'm being optimistic). I don't think that Tea and Kelly will let us suffer that long.

Sadly I needed to use both of my major health potions to avoid being burnt to a crispy critter during the battle. A cunning use of my damage potion did mean a reduction of one heal potion required though!
I hadn't planned to kill the dragon today, but on Sunday, after eating a chocolate rabbit egg. Sadly, that wasn't going to happen, so a rapid rejig to get the orb now was in order (civet killing = free exp and now free HP!)

message 2887: by Zuzana (new)

Zuzana | 2570 comments Yay! Congrats on your dragon slaying, Catherine! Enjoy your new orb. It's worth all those healing potions.

Reva (revans) | 2481 comments Can we get an estimate to complete the beans? So far we have:

Reva. ----- 7 Paper Civets per week
Zuzana --- 7 Paper Civets per week
Rebecca - 1 Paper Civets per week
Zee. ------ 1 Paper Civets per week

100/16= 6.25 weeks

I'm sure we can bring this average down.

Kelly (ladykatala) | 5020 comments Cait wrote: "Is the caravan not coming back until all of the animal types are healed?"

That's the plan currently but I'm never stuck to anything that doesn't seem to be working so we'll leave it as a "we'll see" type answer :)

message 2891: by Kelly (new)

Kelly (ladykatala) | 5020 comments Also, I'd like to reiterate for those who have trouble killing Civets. Every task for Dr. Cottage will be different so even if you can't do this one much you can probably help with the others more.

I'm also ok launching two tasks that overlap if one goes on too long. Let's see how things are shaping up. :)

message 2892: by Teresa (new)

Teresa (teresab78) | 1658 comments Give me a week to level up and I can do a civet a day. That will help your average.

message 2893: by Zuzana (new)

Zuzana | 2570 comments Reva, Teresa is going to join us in killing 1 civet a day as soon as she upgrades her staff.

I snooped around a bit and found out that Lady Katie has a 10 AP weapon. If anybody could entice her to participate in the civet killing that would really help.

message 2894: by Zuzana (new)

I'm sure we can bring this average down.

Sara | 1294 comments Oh, I can't one shot Civets either and I first have to level my hero up as I have no HP left at the moment (and don't want to use any Heal Potions for now).
But I'd be glad to help you out with killing a couple as that extra EXP point is definitely enticing :)
