Thanks Kelly! Just to verify that I'm reading your post right - I could stack two different potions, such as the enhanced weapon and the damage potions, for +6 but not two enhanced weapon potions for +6, correct?
Alex wrote: "The Novel Dragon would be no match for a +15 Tia!"Exactly my thinking, haha! If you could have a weapon with 25-30 attack, that dragon would be no problem! =P
Tia wrote: "Thanks Kelly! Let's go with if the name is different they can stack but if the name is the same except for a qualifier then they don't stack. (e.g. Minor Damage Potion wouldn't stack with Major Damage Potion)
Good question. Is it possible to taking healing potions one after the other like if i have 5 Minor Heal Potion and take them one after the other on my turn it would give me +25. Let the flood gates open. ;)
Yup. You can use as many health potions as you want, they don't use a turn. There are bigger badder guys beyond the Great Novel Dragon :P So don't be worried about his eventual demise.
Well I've settled on
The Alchemist And
The Fifth MountainBoth by Paulo Coelho for my Potugese translated to English.
I tried to get Pippi Longstocking but nothing free was available. :-(
I'm always amazed at some of the books I find that are translated. I never would have known on a lot of them before I looked them up.Then again Harry Potter was translated into American English from British English so.... there is that :P

Somehow I doubt that reading Potter et al fulfills the Spirit of the quest.
Lol. I have plenty of books over 400 pages that were translated from other languages to English, the trick is to find those around 200 pages or less to accomplish the same quest.
I agree with you Reva. I am looking for books less than 200 on my TBR. I'm hoping I don't have to find some random ones just to fill the "Two Empty Halves of Coconuts".
The main authors I thought of when it came to the translations were Dumas, Verne, and Marquez, but none of them are exactly know for writing short works. =pThe Art of War is both a classic and a short read if anyone is interested in reading some Asian literature.

You'd be surprised at how many books I discover that fit the parameters of the quests without my knowing in advance.
Also, I just want to draw this to everyone's attention because it's such a good deal!https://www.humblebundle.com/books
If anyone is interested, apparently due to a technical error Falling into You is free on Amazon for the Kindle right now. Don't know for how long.
I will probably read Ruby Red as one of my translated books. It's part of a series, so if I like it, I'll be set for a few more.BTW I really enjoyed The Alchemist(and its short)
Have you checked Listopia? I can't think of any specific books off the top of my head but most recent years have lists for different genres released every month. Romance November 2014 etc etc. Might be able to find something good there.
Try this link Reva:https://www.goodreads.com/book/popula...
You can use this to look for books published in any year and month. It can by quite a handy tool for challenges :)
Actually it doesn't work for the first publication dates which are required for the task. You have to check the book page to verify the date. e.g. for April 2014 you get Gone Girl which was first published in January 2012.
So excited for the new quests, the caravan, and the start of wheel-a-thon! Is anyone else participating in the other challenge as well?
I'm on Team Fire Opal - just got added this morning. I'm very excited. I'm going through all of my books for this challenge to see which ones will fit the wheel-a-thon, haha.

This looks like too much work in addition to my other quests.
So is Army Ants finished?
Reva wrote: "So is Army Ants finished?"That one finished officially about month ago, but some teams decided to continue until they reach final page count.
What I'm doing is planning all my books for this challenge and then fitting them into the wheel-a-thon if I can. This one is definitely still getting the majority of my focus.
Tia wrote: "What I'm doing is planning all my books for this challenge and then fitting them into the wheel-a-thon if I can. This one is definitely still getting the majority of my focus."Wheel-a-thon is pretty easy to fit books into unless you have really crazy letters :)
I'm on team Ruby with Rachel, in fact her mentioning this game on our team thread is what got me interested.
Wheel a thon is actually the easiest possible team challenge to fit books into because almost any book can fit SOME letter. The addition of character names being usable makes it very, very easy.In other news I'm working on my "west" book for the midas quest and it's just....so.....slow......good lord I hate historical fiction. I keep thinking I'll come around on it someday but no. Nope.
. The cheesy romance added in to the historical part just.....I would rather scrub my bathrooms than keep reading this book but I don't have any other with "west" in the title.
I know that pain, haha - I'm currently listening to an audiobook for one of the Midas quests and I can't wait for it to end. Actually, coincidentally enough, it's also historical fiction. =pIt was written in the late 1800s, so it's just a manly man doing manly man things like fighting all the other manly men and saving all the delicate flower princesses, haha.
I just read the description of your book, Cait - ouch. A woman sold into a marriage she didn't want only to fall in love with a man below her station and discover her suppressed passion? It's such a conglomeration of the bad cliches in historical fiction.
This is exactly like that too! *Flexes* Big strong manly men doing manly work on their manly ranch while dainty delicate women cook their meals and warm their beds and the men look at them like I'm rolling my eyes so hard I pulled a muscle.
I have actually rolled my eyes so hard while reading some books that I've given myself a headache, haha.
Don't give up on historical fiction, Cait! There are some amazing reads in the genre, sounds like you've picked a bit of a dud though.
I have yet to read a single one that I liked lol The only one that comes to mind that I enjoyed is
and that's only in the 1930s so doesn't really count.

Wait a minute Cait you don't have to read a book with west in the title it's enough if the word is anywhere in the text.
Find the direction words north, south, east and west each in a book or book title (one per book). Lord Alex gladly pays you 10 Gold for helping him escape. He also promises to buy you a round at the local tavern but you're understandably wary after hearing about his last joke where he put the magic frog powder in Lady Tea's drink and turned her into a frog for a week.
Oh, wow. I TOTALLY missed that Zuzana. And here I spent so long trying to find books with those words in the title that I could at least tolerate. I guess I'll have to make sure I read the quest description better next time. =p
Yeah, I knew that. The problem is I don't want to waste my time reading a book where I might not even find that word as opposed to just suffering through and reading one where I KNOW I'll get it. You know?Too many quests to possibly waste time lol
