Woohoo! Level 10 staff. Grunt, ugh, dragggggg. these things seem to get heavier as I level up. I wonder if there is a magic spell to lighten the load?
Heh. There might be bling for the staff as part of the extra trinkets quests in the future that are just for fun.

I have a potentially silly question about monster killing!So for rats/bats/golbins we have to wait a week to battle it again. If we use a book to lure out a monster before a week, do we then wait another week from that date to kill it? Or do we stick to the "original week"? Does that make any sense?

It would be a week from the last time you killed it (bait or no bait). So much more beneficial to kill and lure on the same day.

That's why being able to attack in 6 versus 7 days is hardly a great benefit. I usually need that extra day to read more sacrifice books. Far better to have the attack power increase of the Baroque Horse.

I'm lucky if I can finish 30-40 books a month and that's including the audiobooks I listen to at work!

Usually I do 50-60 books a month. Ask me if I sleep. This month I'll break my personal best of 72 by doing over 100 books.I must admit that my old norm was to gravitate to thick meaty books of 700 pages or more. This quest has dramatically changed what I read and when.
I could probably do 15-20 if I kept my books under 300 pages. The fantasy books I am reading are 600-1000 with two in the summer around 1200 apiece.

But honestly, there are some people that read HUNDREDS a month. HUNDREDS!
I'm lucky to get 10 a month - two a week is my usual. I'll join in that drink,

One a day is my max at a minimum of 100 pages... and I used to think I was a fast reader!!
I'm with you Zee! I feel accomplished if I get 10 done a month. My problem is I really like my sleep....and my fiance likes his even more. So I can't usually stay up too late to read. I would have loved a snow day or two to use for reading, but sadly my work doesn't seem to care about snow/ice.I'll take a barrel of ale please!

The nice thing about the quests is that you do what you can. You're playing against your own personal goals.
Heh, I used to read more. I think writing quests takes up a lot of my time now.Though I probably shoot myself in the foot since I read a book and think "this would fit in great to a quest" but then I've already read the perfect fit by the time the quest comes around so I have to find a different one.

But I need it for the existing quests! Plus I feel bad about using too much forknowledge. Even if I rarely know the quests until right when I write them :)
Foreknowledge isn't any use for me at all. I still keep putting books in bag in case something better comes. And then when something better does come, I'm still not using that book from the bag, cause you never know...I have a feeling that in the end I'm going to use high page books or high series numbers for something silly like spelling. :P
Haha, I have a feeling I'm going to end up using the 1000 pager in my tote towards Time Walker. I want the potion so I can not worry about the expiry date for the horse!
I find that if I pick the books that fit the quest ahead of time it's less likely that I will waste a book in the wrong slot prematurely. It also let's me order books from the library so that they arrive when I need them.
I do the same as Reva. I don't read a book unless I know exactly what quest I'm putting it into first. I would be all stressed about it otherwise like WHERE WILL IT GO!? I plan out as far in advance as I can (right now I'm just short of filling out through Everybody Lies) and then order them in batches from the library. Once I finish a quest, I order the next batch for the next quest.
It's actually been working pretty well! It's nice, knowing what's coming next haha
So I just killed my third rat and I have been in the game since early January. I thinks I need to keep up with when fresh rats are available.

I attack 1/week-- less confusing that way. Listopia can give you a list of books <200 pages -- many are classics. That way you can get your rat totals up faster.
My problem isn't not being able to fight the rats it is forgetting to fight them weekly. The issue is that it is much easier to type out battle on the computer instead of on the iPad and I neglect to do so when at home.

I read more books to complete quests during the week then blitz the weekend with 100+ books. Then do my attacks Sunday night. I find that plan works well for me. Find what fits your schedule.
That's a good strategy Reva! I need to find more 100+ books, as most of mine are in the 300s.

Those of you who read lots and lots (did I read hundreds??) a month amaze me. where do you find the time? I am not a speed reader and life gets in the way of what reading I do get done which is only about 6 books a month!

I think you get faster the more you practice.

I've planned where every book I'm reading goes except for this one. It was a book I just HAD to read after reading the previous book in the series and now it's collecting dust in my tote.Little worried though that I'm probably going to finish my current read tonight and it doesn't look like my next set will be ready to pick up from the library yet. What to start, stress!!
