Good job on knocking down the dragon a sizable chunk.

e.g. it's Thursday afternoon (14:00), WD knocked me out,
a/ my penalty time ends Sunday afternoon (14:01),
or
b/ Monday morning ( 00:01 to be precise)?

In no way is the third edition 400+ pages. -- obviously a mistake. However, since it IS listed, can I really read this 96 page book and count it for 400+ pages ?

Sure :) It is a cheating quest afterall.

Sunday. We'll do 72 hours.

LOL I just love this game. Thanks so much.

Yup that's fine. This one was specifically for people to clear out all those tiny books they were waiting on :)

2. Since it is a SIMULTANEOUS ATTACK ON BOTH Squirrels, is only 1 set of castng materials required OR Do I need 2 sets?
3 Also is the cat counted for both attacks since it is a SIMULTANEOUS ATTACK?
Attack #583 -- Sept. 9/16 Nook Squirrel -
(Element Air) (Weekly) Reward: (Per Squirrel) 2 exp. 1 Nook Squirrel Carcass
The nook squirrel is a hard to find squirrel. It hides in nooks and crannies all over Novel Kingdom. No one has managed to find more than one of these each month. Except for Ivan the Magician who determined that casting Earth magik on one will cause it to freeze to the ground causing an additional Nook squirrel to come and join his companion to investigate.
10 attack 20 HP - (Per Squirrel) - The squirrels must be attacked separately unless using area of effect abilities. Only one squirrel will ever come to the aid of another (multiple uses of earth magik does not continue to summon them. The squirrels both attack independently during the monster attack around when both are alive.

"20 + 2 +2 Horse +4 Pup + 4 Cat + 3 Damage"
Otherwise, I believe that only one batch of ingredients is needed when you're using the rug. That's how the rug works. It doesn't have the kind of limitations red gem has. I don't see any reason to exclude cat from the attack.
So what I'm saying is that apart from the mysterious "2" your attack looks fine to me.

Will be throwing what I can at the dragon -- probably tomorrow.
I also have 2 eggs available right now if anyone needs them to regain some HP after taking a whack at her. 2 more will be available Sunday as well. Free to a good home as always. ;)

There's one for each squirrel and then each one is doubled with Amile & Ester. Yet another reason they are my fav mercenaries. haha.

That's the problem with cutting and pasting. Yes the +2 was for the staff. Thanks for noticing. But that's why I asked, so people could catch any errors.
I wanted to get this attack in and then I'll be able to attack again on Sunday.

At least that would be my guess."
But Reva isn't using her weapon she's casting a spell.

However, the +2 IS an attack modifier and spells ARE a type of attack.
Kelly what do you think? SHOULD we include it in Magic Spell attacks?

Have only used a spell once so far--clearly it shows. lol.

However, the +2 IS an attack modifier and spells ARE a type of attack.
Kelly what do you think? SHOULD we include it in Magic Spell attacks?"
IMO it's a sword or/and magic staff modifier, you don't use it for sligshot or Spock's Plasma weapon either, do you?
But Kelly might think otherwise. It's worth a try.

However, the +2 IS an attack modifier and spells ARE a type of attack.

You dont get if you don't ask. LOL

I wasn't aware that this was possible. Is this so? It makes a big difference in recovery time.

Yup, ppp doubles every pet effect. [The Rocky healing power] Doesn't apply to the dragon battle (only to the very last participant who kills the dragon for good).

SPELLS + PETS + POTIONS: HOW TO COMBINE THEM
Question 1: Zuzana wrote: "In the battle round when you're casting a spell, do your pets (horse, cat, dog) still attack, too? And what about the potions, which of them work alongside the spell (minor poison has to, once the monster is poisoned it should take effect every round. but what about others - e.g. damage potion?"
Answer 1: Kelly wrote: "Your pets can still attack. Things that affect weapons wouldn't affect the spells unless specifically noted. It basically replaces your sword/staff. "
Question 2: Zuzana wrote: "Kelly, I asked about the potions before but so it's clear:
Combination of spells and potions: YES or NO?
1/ minor poison - definitely YES
(view spoiler)
2/ enhanced weapon potion - definitely NO
(view spoiler)
3/ damage potion - YES? I'm not sure about this one.
(view spoiler)
4/ weakening potion - NO
(view spoiler)
5/ growing strength potion - NO
(view spoiler)
6/ pet plus potion - YES
(view spoiler) "
Answer 2: Kelly wrote: "I'll give you damage potion working on spells. Everything else you stated looks correct. "

Question 1 - part 1 : Zuzana wrote: "What if you tried using the red gem in a later round - if you use Growing strength Potion in the first round but not use the weapon its modifier should still rise according to the round you're in (see description). + the bauble counts too.
Every turn increases the attack power of both weapons by 1. (First Turn +1, Second Turn +2, Third Turn +3). Lasts for a single battle.
It should boost your attack a bit."
Question 1 - part 2 : Zuzana wrote: "5/ How does the Growing strength potion work if you use it before your 1st round attack but then some of the rounds you're using spells? https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/..."
Answer 1:Kelly wrote: " And yes the growing strength potion can increase even if you don't attack that round."
Question 2: Zuzana wrote: "BTW You can gain more from your GSP by using your staff in round 1 - it will grow (during rounds you use spells) in the background until you use it again in latter rounds.
Kelly, does the same apply to the bauble, too? It would make sense as it works on the same principle as the GSP. "
Answer 2:Kelly wrote: "Based on the Bauble reward text:
"The growth weapon enhancement bauble will increase damage each turn in battle by 1 for a single weapon. (First Turn +1, Second Turn +2, Third Turn +3)"
I think it's purely based off your turn as to what the bonus is. So even if you use magic in your first turn the bauble would be +2 in the second one. "

We talked about it before and I know it would be too much work to ask Kelly to do this. But it can be done by players themselves.
The way I see it: the mods (probably Kelly) would start the thread by stating categories/tags:
Something along the lines of: (I believe we can come up with more categories, this is just an example.)
WEAPONS
SHIELD / GEMS
MONSTERS
SPELLS
POTIONS
QUESTS
...
And now how it could work:
You ask Kelly a question in the Tavern. You think it's an important issue and has impact on other players, too. After Kelly answers in the Tavern, you copy your question and Kelly's (mod's) answer to the FAQ Thread. You put both the question and the answer into one post. And at the top of your post you add appropriate TAGS. That way finding anything in the thread would become much easier.
There would be no chatter in the FAQ thread. Any discussion would take place in the Tavern as usual.
ANY IDEAS OR SUGGESTIONS?

I wasn't aware that this was possible. Is this so? It makes a big difference in recovery time."
Yeah that was a direct Kelly question in regards to everything that was covered by PPP. Like rabbit eggs and phoenix feathers, but not bird friend. Rock was specifically mentioned.
The rock was something I forgot to remove from my battle template.
Deleted attack so I could fix all the things that got lost in the tavern thread, so I am all for a place where all those questions are updated for easy browsing.
I would think it wouldn't be much more to just c/p the questions as Kelly or another mod answers them and they can edit the answers in under the various headings with the mod account so it's much easier to search/organized than if it's a bunch of people editing/adding different posts (if that makes sense).
I can just see it getting super cluttered and things being buried if the mod would have to go into the FAQ thread and update links to various people's things and adding them under headings later or searching through tags. How tags since it's not like twitter or something - do you mean like headings?
Aka if this would be formatted like the already existing threads regarding monsters and quests and such.

And yeah, I meant headings.
The post would look like this:
*********************************
SPELLS
Daphne wrote: "I have a question - Once we've gotten and cast the spell 3 times and have learned it, do we need to do the quests for the supplies EACH time we want to cast in battle?"
Kelly wrote: "Yes."
***************************
Everybody would be responsible for pasting their questions and mods answers, and there would be no chatter there - so that would prevent the thread to become too cluttered. Anyway it's much easier than going through 148 pages of the Tavern thread.

Or the first page is one comment from each of us that we can then edit to point to other pages where further answers are as it grows.
Just your comments about spells and potions? That's a pretty limited topic and look how long those are with spoiler tags. Plus, comments only hold so many characters and with the challenge continuing to grow... It makes sense to plan ahead instead of us coming to a point to where the FAQ is not much of a help since you have to scroll through multiple pages of tl;dr comments.
And it could be someone other than the mods or a couple someones who each just *claims* a few comments on the thread so that they can be edited as people add more answered questions to the thread for easy/quick find what you need without going to multiple pages or scrolling around.
Plus it would be easier on Kelly, Tea, etc being able to have that as a quick reference when new questions arise to see what had been said/decided before.

claiming a comment like the mods do, or Reva has done for her catalog.
Therefore you could go to the first page and it's full of links so you can just look there and go to whatever answers you're looking for via the links. Like the following:

What do you want that place to be called?
FAQ sounds little out of theme :P
here you go. Have fun :)

Then just under my hero summary I have links to everything I might need.
And it's all organized no matter how long the game goes or how many things get added.

My bad! I thought that you meant people claiming that something was said by the mods (in a comment) that wasn't hence my mental skip to cheating. The ** you used to emphasise the word threw me off. My reaction was like "Huh?! Whenever happened anything like that?"

Not sure where the other came from.

Only allowed to cheat in the cheating quest ;) hehe

Yeah, Morgan explained what she meant. And about the name, I don't know.
ANY IDEAS?

The FAQ also wouldn't be more work for the mods, because it would cut down on a lot of questions/work for them AND the more organized, easy to use it is, the more people would use it instead of just asking/re-asking here in the tavern.

I say just Ye Olde FAQ
:P

LOL! I totally forgot about that one.

I don't want to argue but I wasn't that categorical I said "or way earlier". I'm well aware that my memory is hardly perfect.
Anyway, what I really want to ask you. Since the thread is up, would you lead the way? ;)
BTW Thanks, Tea!
