All this was approved by Kelly.

Reva (revans) | 2481 comments OK FOLKS. HERE'S THE PROPOSED TEMPLATE FOR THE ATTACK. PLEASE FEEL FREE TO PULL IT APART AS REQUIRED.

.
The Battle
This battle will require the efforts of everyone in Novel Kingdom. Unlike normal battles, the Great White Dragon can be battled in parts.

You may engage in battle at any point when your health is above 0. You may drop to 0 health during the battle however, as soon as that occurs you are knocked out and must remain out of any battles for the next 3 days. You may also disengage from the dragon early with no penalty. Leaving the battle or being knocked out does not count as an end of battle for items that provide benefits for that, it does reset any growing benefits as the turn count will return to 1.

Zuzana | 2570 comments In round 8, dragon's AP is 17/2= 8. You should round down. I would argue that the math should work the same as in case of the blue gem. Blue gem /2 rounfs down - ruled by Kelly.

message 7306: by Zuzana (new)

Zuzana | 2570 comments The rest looks fine. :) Great job taking so many points off dragon's health.

BTW You can gain more from your GSP by using your staff in round 1 - it will grow (during rounds you use spells) in the background until you use it again in latter rounds.

Kelly, does the same apply to the bauble, too? It would make sense as it works on the same principle as the GSP.

Thanks again. The numbers were all incorrect anyway. That's what you get with 3 hours sleep.

Anyone else have any input?

If there is no further feedback by 8:00 pm EST, I'll post this as the first attack under the Great White Dragon.

Right back at yah. I always trust that you'll catch the discrepancies. ;-)

I'll hardly argue since it's usually because I haven't used enough of something and it's costing me more.

It's a tough call as to how long the attacks should be. I find Casting the Magic Spell of Marginal benefit vs my staff but I'm sure that's not the case with everyone.

Each cast uses preciously hard won feathers and such.

I guess getting The Shard becomes the next priority. I hope we see Shard 2 and Shard 3 in the next months update. That will take the pressure off Kelly to come up with more ideas.

I'd say you'd probably find plenty in Steampunk novels.

Jules Verne is always good. 20,000 Leagues, Captain Nemo, Mysterious Island, Earth to the moon.

Swiss Family Robinson.

You can Check my Bauble 1 & 2 Postings Page 6 of my thread.

message 7321: by Zuzana (new)

Zuzana | 2570 comments Kelly, I have a question about being knocked out by the White Dragon: What do you mean by "you can drop to 0". It was established quite early that a hero can't have a health bellow zero. So if my HP is 18 and the dragon attacks me with attack power of 18, I'm knocked out. So far so good. But what if my initial HP is lets say 5? 5-18 = 0, too. Is it the same as the above example because if so it may be used to our benefit. *winks*

Not sure how, since it prevents you from attacking for three days.

Now it may be that you might need three days to gather more casting supplies, in which you could go an extra round and take the hit.

message 7324: by Reva (new)

Reva (revans) | 2481 comments Hey Kelly how come Bats wings weren't incorporated to boost the attack like in previous Dragons?

message 7325: by Zuzana (new)

Zuzana | 2570 comments By saving on health potions. If your health is e.g. 7, you can either disengage OR you can drink a heal potion and attack again (one last time before disengaging) OR you can attack without healing yourself and let yourself be knocked out. It's true you can't attack anything for 3 days but most of the players do their attacks once a week anyway so it won't affect them.

This is the only one you can go below 0 with since it's a special shared monster event. I wanted to make sure newer people could still come in and poke the beast even if they're taken out immediately after.

message 7328: by Kelly (new)

Kelly (ladykatala) | 5020 comments Also keep in mind "knocked out and must remain out of any battles for the next 3 days."

That's not just dragon battles, that's all battles. So that last round better be worth it.

It will cap out at 0 still. It counts as a knock out type punch. So if you have 5HP left and get hit for 18 points you'll now have 0 HP but be knocked out for 3 days.

Based on the Bauble reward text:

"The growth weapon enhancement bauble will increase damage each turn in battle by 1 for a single weapon. (First Turn +1, Second Turn +2, Third Turn +3)"

I think it's purely based off your turn as to what the bonus is. So even if you use magic in your first turn the bauble would be +2 in the second one.

Oh right. Thanks! I fixed it. I'll post in the battle in a minute.

Hrm... I think you're too hurt at that point. I guess I'm thinking it's not a full round since you were taken out before the round finished.

Zuzana | 2570 comments Rebecca, your math is off right from the start. Check out your hero's health: 29-19=10, ysmay: 10+5=15, major heal: 15+15= 30, not 29.

Zuzana | 2570 comments Also in you second attack 22-19= 3, not 10. ;-)

3. Read a book where someone grows up.

What's the definition of growing up?

What are the age parameters?

Does it count:

If a person is young in the prologue and older in chapter one,

A teenager in prologue and in twenties in chapter one.

Zuzana | 2570 comments Regarding lemon tree: Once we get the lemon tree we get 1 lemon a week. That's clear. But what do you mean by "zest the lemon"? I hope it has nothing to do with the Zest spell.

I'd probably say one where the growing up is part of the story itself somehow. Either a chunk as a young person and a chunk as an older person. Or it could be something less physical where they're childish in nature but then have something happen to them that causes them to "grow up".

So I guess something more than the slight passage of time but it's open to interpretation in the various ways people can grow up.

Nope. That's an activity that you can do at any point. No outside action needed other than a statement that you're doing it :)

Zuzana | 2570 comments LOL! Thanks, Kelly. I'll zest lemons in my freetime then.

Rebecca (rebeccasg) | 3799 comments Hi Zuzana, my max health right now is only 29 that's why I have it at 29 and not 30.

I'm gonna post it to the battle thread once I get to work.
