Yea that would be great!
Possibly another Bauble that does something different too might be cool (no ideas what it would do yet though..)

defence bauble?

Lol. I think Kili had some valid points in his backroom quest. :P

Maybe spice on its own could be a little boost. (Dune, anyone?) ;)
Oh a matching defense bauble would be nice.

Poor Kili... I should hire him for my weekly killing spree: OMG KILI. YOU'RE SO BRAVE AND STRONG.

You could probably squeak it out from level 9 to level 14 or 15 but you're right, fewer big books out there
I know it's a pain but you might want to consider biting the bullet and leveling up your staff. There lots of interesting and funny series out there and its far easier to attain level 15 and higher.
Here's a link to the Never Ending Series Challenge. -- Every genre imaginable for ideas. Use your computer because all the bookcovers will likely crash your phone.

Yeah Reva I should have started with my staff in the beginning since I read about 80% series already. (probably more than that to be honest). I just HATE skipping around in a series so I knew it would be more difficult for me to fit in all the appropriate slots each time. I've just invested to much into my sword I'd hate to start over.
I guess instead of using 14+ books for a higher level sword I can use them to get potions to balance it out.

I can't skip around in series. Physically can't. lol. But I also tend to have multiple things going at once depending on where I am and I've found it pretty easy to do series for staff. I read a fair amount of graphic novels as well so some I have had straight through and others were filling in holes as I went.
You can kinda see what I've done: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/... But it's actually been great since I've gone to look for series I hadn't gone back to in awhile to see -- oh! there's a 10,11,12...sweet! And it's making me read or continue series that I had just been passing over for other various things.
I've actually really enjoyed getting back to them or finally getting around to them! But I've definitely stuck to the order of the series when reading even if they aren't all on the same staff level.
When I started the Series of Unfortunate Events books, it made me decide to fill in levels 8-13 (since that series goes to 13), and I'm closing in on them. :) (currently level 9 staff).

Sometimes I pick out random books and I tend to take out bundles so I don't max out my library. Very often it's book #12 or #15 of a series I haven't read yet the book doesn't require you to read the previous ones in the series to enjoy it.
Anything over #10 I save for leveling up exclusively. Without hardly trying, it's easy to level up without reading everything prior in a series.

Heh. Some of them aren't fully thought out yet.
My thoughts on multiplayer RPG would be that you get a hero (level 1 type basic hero) and you draw a set of cards that can include monsters, quests, etc. Then you work on your cards, maybe some discards. Then you level up your hero that way. You could also do side things besides your card stack.
I was going to model it a bit after some of the card games that you can play where you draw monsters with different abilities.
There may be unknown surprises during the event :) The goal wouldn't necessarily be to win against the other teams since sometimes it's nice to have more of a cooperative setting while still allowing each team to strive to make their hero the best. Similar to a war where the overall health of your army is good but you also want to be the best soldier you can be.

Let's go with that being 2 words.

hmmm...this sounds interesting and like a lot of fun. If you guys do something like this, I'm definitely in! Would love to be on a team for a MMORPG(sorta) but with books, lol

(945 for level 11)
585+945 = (1530 for level 12)
945+ 1530 = (2475 for level 13)
and so on?
would that be correct?

Yes. After the first few levels it's the previous two levels added together.

Horse is post 6
Bunny post 9
House post 10
Puppy post 17
Rock post 18

House quests are: here. The pets and others are also grouped on that same page under titles like 'simple', 'potions', 'cooking', etc.
https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/... will take you to the top of the Quests topic page. :D

Offhand, I can only think of Catching Fire. I'd say Snow dangles the reward of not hurting her friends/family if she does as he says. Thinking upon those lines, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone has it where Voldemort offers to bring back Harry's family if Harry gives him the stone... same with the last one, offering powers if Harry joins him. That's all I can think of tho. Good luck!

I looked through your to-read list for some of the books I've read that would fit.
Ready Player One by Ernest Cline - reward at the end of the book for winning.
Pretties by Scott Westerfeld - quite a bit of blackmail type things in these books

It is pretty awesome!

Put those in a main post that you are working on, and then the others further down, so you have a place to put books that absolutely won't fit in the main quests you want to finish soonest.
Maybe make a book deal with yourself that every 5th book will be read to level up one of your weapons, and the other 4 are for quests.
You really can do it anyway you want though! This quest is so awesome for that. You could hypothetically just choose to get the best possible puppy ever, and focus all on training it up first. You won't end up too bad off that way because at the end you'll be earning 2 gold per week, have 2 extra attack, and be able to attack all minor and normal hidden monsters when you are ready for that. :)

Well done so far!
Going forward depends on your goals. If you are planning more combat then I would recommend building your staff to higher levels to one stroke your weekly monsters.
I personally would use the Divergent series for building the sword or save the 500+ page books for future quests (you need them for the bed) See if you can find other series that interest you which use fewer pages. I didn't check, but if you haven't used the level 3 staff yet, I would suggest keeping those books in your infinite tote for future use.
if you have the gold, the cat takes 4 books to activate and gives you +2 in your first stroke only.
The horse takes 12 books for +1 each round
The puppy takes a lot of books for +1 or +2 combat.
The rabbit is great for weekly healing.
Think about what books you LIKE to read and concentrate on those quests that you would enjoy fulfilling.
I must say that this RPG has encouraged me to read books that I never would have selected on my own -- AND I ENJOYED THEM! I also revisited classics that I read 20+ years ago. Don't be afraid to stretch your boundaries.
Most of all, have fun!

Regarding your plan, do what feels right for you. If you want to do quests, than concentrate on quests. If you want to kill some monsters, focus on leveling up one of your weapons so you can one-shot them. First level up one of your weapons to LVL 3 = attack power of 5 (you can kill rats with one blow and goblins with two blows), then to LVL 6 = attack power of 8 (you can kill bats with two blows). After that you need to get to attack power of 10 to one-shot goblins - either level up your weapon or get a horse or/and a puppy. Also if you plan to kill monsters you should think of getting a bunny. It is a great pet to have - heals 3 HPs every week.

As a general rule you can obtain only one pet of each kind (one horse, one bunny, one rock, one cat,...)
As for the battles - you can use whichever weapon you choose. Later on when battling rare monsters you might be "forced" to use your weaker weapon but you don't have to worry about that for some time to come.

As a general rule you can obtain only one pet of each kind (one horse, one bunn..."
Well dang about the bunny! Lol. Anyways, so I guess it makes sense for now to just focus on one weapon. Thanks for the info!!

You can use the same weapon over and over, so it's really better to just focus on one. There's a rare monster or two that gets affected by which one it is, so I'd just level up one first, then do the other down the road when/if it will help you out with some of those type monsters.
I read the crap outta series, so I've leveled up my staff. I was able to use the 15 books from the welcome basket to get my staff to 5. I will have my staff pretty easy through at least 10 as a lot of the series I already read I'm on higher books, so I just have to get up to them.
Enjoy! I just started the beginning of the month and it's been so much fun for me too. Wish I had started up when Kelly first started it last year.

What genres do you like for series?
There are a great deal of classic series that each run between 100 - 200 pages.
Westerns: Louis L'Amour
Sci fi. Ursula Le guin (Earthsea), Edgar Rice Borroughs (the Martian Series, The Venus Seris, Tarzan)
Romance Anything Harlequin
Mystery M. C. Beaton (Hamish Mcbeth) Conan Doyle (Sherlock Holmes)
A lot of the Cozy mysteries run about 250 pages each
Adventure: Jules Verne

Those are fine. I think above 100+ pages is the cutoff. I know I read the A Series of Unfortunate Events books for staff leveling (also personal enjoyment!) and the Bunnicula books for several of the Bunny quest requirements (and I was not alone in reading those!). :D
It's a lot looser as far as requirements go than a lot of challenges I've noticed. More wiggle room for interpretation and such. Hope that helps!
But as you can see if you have any questions about anything there are a bunch of us and we

My fav genre is the dystopian stuff that's really big right now, but they are generally longer and only have 3 or 4 books in the series, which of course makes it harder when it comes to getting past the 4th level. Thanks for the suggestions! I will check them out.
