Yea I just use a Google search for my pictures. There's always a chance someone could move or delete the original image but that's a tiny risk I'm willing to take.

I always look forward to what's coming in the next month. Any chance of a sneak peek?

Some stuff might get posted early.
You can also upload images to imgur.com no account needed and you can select get image from url. I like my photobucket but sometimes I can't be bothered to log in or save/upload. This way you aren't hotlinking images from others which is frowned upon. Just FYI. ;)

I'm not that tech savvy. I have no idea what you just said. :-(

Haha, I know what you mean! I am rather tech savvy, but anything to do with images sort of goes right over my head.
Reva wrote: "Morgan wrote: "You can also upload images to imgur.com no account needed and you can select get image from url. I like my photobucket but sometimes I can't be bothered to log in or save/upload. T..."
When you link an image by simply copying the URL it's called "hotlinking". It's stealing the bandwidth from whatever site you are taking that image from. Lots of places will then replace hotlinked images with porn or other offensive things in an effort to stop people who do this.
It can cause issues with the individual sites and cause their content to go down. It can also cause their charges to go up if they want to keep their content up for viewers/readers. This is very detrimental to smaller businesses/bloggers especially who do use things like photobucket or other paid hosting services.
There are plenty of free ways to get around hotlinking and imgur.com is one.
You can take the same copied URL of an image you want to use for whatever purpose and paste it in there to upload it. That will generate a link just for you for that image and everyone is happy and using proper internet etiquette. ;)
More info: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inline_...http://altlab.com/hotlinking.html
Place you can upload images for free to use here on goodreads: http://imgur.com/
Up at the top it says "Upload images" with a drop down arrow. Click on that and select "Upload images". This will open up a little box that says browse your computer (things you have saved) or enter image URLs. This is where you can copy/paste that image link you want to use and it will generate all the code for you and upload it separately.
If you just use a straight up link to an image like this (not displaying the actual image, but linking to its location):https://tyrannyoftradition.files.word...
This is OK. :D
But putting img src=" in front of it turns it into a hotlink.
But if I go to imgur.com.... plug that into where it says enter image URLs....and click start upload....
I get this: http://imgur.com/A5uLvtI (hopefully that link let's you all see the post upload page)
Clicking on the direct link section just copy and then paste it between the image code like so:
[img src="http://i.imgur.com/A5uLvtI.jpg"] (with <> instead of [] at the start and end)
and Voila!
Everyone should head on over here for some March Craziness.
There will be a few more things in the next day or two coming to just the NRPG side.

Experience earned in the LRPG is for our heroes right? Just want to make sure. It's SO much to take in at once. :)
You all have done a wonderful job with this!

Yup. The experience moves over. It's an attempt to get some more people to try out NRPG.
YAY new things!!Will we be getting new classifieds/quests/monsters later this week, in addition to all this?
And like Daphne said, the LPRG is a part of the NRPG yes?
!! Very excited !!
For leprechaun coins it's only books read in March -- is the same true of the shards? Or that's going to be the main reward of completion for after March -- the pot of gold? (I'm figuring they stick around since it's a far amount of reading to finish all, but wanted to double check.) ;)
Also fun way to hopefully interest new people in checking out. :)
Yes, Do we have to get all the shards and complete our pot of gold with ONLY books read in March during March? (not impossible, but daunting lol..)I agree I hope this gets us some new traffic and members that would be great! :)

Shards you can still get after. I didn't want to lock the prize to only those who can read that quantity in a month. You can also use books before March but not if you want Leprechaun coins.

I'll be doing another update soon. Next day or two probably. I got a bit behind with the Leprechaun stuff.
I'm expecting:
- A new monster of some type
- Classifieds
- Something new in the store or training
- Backroom Quest
- Pet Quest
- Welcome Basket

Yes, LRPG is part of NRPG. It's all quests and books read in March for coins so everyone's on a level playing field coin wise.
Will leprechaun coins have any purpose to our quests here? Do I need to bother keeping track of how many I have because I will need them later, or are they only for the Leprechaun RGP?And awesome so we can work on the Pot of Gold however long and with whatever books we choose for the purpose of this game - perfect!
Thanks Kelly that all sounds great. :) I didn't really want to have to sacrifice and miss out on other quests and classifieds just trying to read 20 books for leprechauns all this month!
Alyssa wrote: "Will leprechaun coins have any purpose to our quests here? Do I need to bother keeping track of how many I have because I will need them later, or are they only for the Leprechaun RGP?And awesome..."
Leprechaun Coins are only for the Leprechaun Event. There's other stuff going on there too that you can participate in if you are so inclined. If you don't want to participate in the Leprechaun Event you can still do the quests and don't need to track coins.
I'm glad you like the Pot of Gold :)
I'm glad that the leprechaun quests are staying longer as I won't be able to finish one during March. The shards look fun to collect though!
Wow!! As a brand new player I am totally torn as to whether to work on the basics, like upgrading my weapons right now, or to put all that on hold to do the leprechaun thing. Aaaaahhhhh!!! Choices!! Anyways, I just started playing a few days ago, will I qualify for that welcome basket when you get it ready?
Allecyn wrote: "Wow!! As a brand new player I am totally torn as to whether to work on the basics, like upgrading my weapons right now, or to put all that on hold to do the leprechaun thing. Collecting all the shards would get the pot of gold which is a great ongoing benefit to the game. I would recommend working on getting it.
I agree with Reva....go for the gold!! It'll be so helpful to start out with that extra boost of 1 gold per week.
Thanks guys!! I am still trying to figure out what does what, and what the more valuable things are to have. Thanks so much for your advice!
And there's the lots of experience you can get for each quest. I mean, the house and the horse and the sword and the staff aren't going anywhere, well, neither is the pot of gold, but why not go for the PoG while being able to get the coins at the same time? So, that's why I'm taking this month to see how far I get.
So I'm still not clear on the multiple use of books. If I use books to spell PEACE, can they be used in other quests such as the scrounger list?Or is it just to meet goals On The Road to...
No Reva, you can use a book for PEACE, and then also for a different LRPG event, but in our RPG, PEACE is a quest, so one book for one quest like always.
Example: You can use book ABC for PEACE quest, and you can also use it for On the Road. But if you use it for PEACE, you can't use it for the Rainbow quest from Feb.
Oooh, some of the books in my tote that I didn't have earmarked for quests fit the leprechaun quests. Only one more E for PEACE! I won't get coins, but I'm only after the pot of gold :D
Kelly said, for our purposes you can use books read before March for the leprechaun quests too. But for the LRPG, you have to use only books read in March.
Zee wrote: "Oooh, some of the books in my tote that I didn't have earmarked for quests fit the leprechaun quests. Only one more E for PEACE! I won't get coins, but I'm only after the pot of gold :D"Yes! You'll still get XP, and the shard towards your Pot of Gold.
Cathy M. mentioned how fun this was about a month ago, and I looked at it but didn't do anything- but then with all the cute Leprechaun stuff too - I just couldn't resist any longer. There is a lot to take in, but I'm going to take the advice of the experts and work on my shards and pot of gold. Thanks for setting up such a fun experience!
Yay welcome Suzanne! This is so much fun, by far my favorite :) Let me know if you have any questions!

Welcome Suzanne. It's a fun challenge and the new Leprechaun Quests are typical of the very inventive minds of the mods. Don't be shy. Feel free to ask any and many questions. ;-)

Hahaha 3 months! Yes I remember because I wanted to kick myself for holding off for so long :)
I told Daphne about this last June after I started and she just started in November so I came over sooner than that! :D
I was playing in this quest last year, but stopped keeping up with it. If I want to join in again should I start over or just continue with that one?
Shanna_redwind wrote: "I was playing in this quest last year, but stopped keeping up with it. If I want to join in again should I start over or just continue with that one?"Welcome back :)
You can continue where you left off, just to be fair to others use only last year books you have in your tote.
Hello all, I would like to join in on all the fun. Hopefully I can figure all this out, there seems to be a lot to go through. I am going to set up my first thread soon!
Welcome Jessica! Feel free to start in one area and branch out later. Also there's some good write ups by members at the bottom of the welcome thread.
