Wow, Matt! That must be a marvelous series to hold your interest twice through at 34 books! Welcome back to bingo.

I remember reading some of the Shannara books as a teenager, (the original trilogy and one or two others) and I was just wondering the other day if it might be fun to read them again and add on the ones I hadn't read. I didn't realize there was quite that many books though! Re-thinking now. On the other hand, I was also a bit worried that I wouldn't like them now. The Spouse watched the Shannara TV-series a while back, and it was absolutely awful. But also nothing like I either of us remembered the books. It can be dangerous to revisit favourites from earlier in life. But you make me think it could be safe to do so.

Veronique | 1154 comments Impressive!
Haven’t read any Shannara books, although they are in my TBR :O)
I’m enjoying quite a few re-reads too, for comfort, but also to re-visit truly amazing books.

The original trilogy probably wouldn't hold up for most readers except maybe for nostalgia. The Genesis trilogy had some pretty cool urban fantasy going on that I thought was well done.

I also enjoyed the whole "never ending" story of Grianne Ohmsford"

Yes, I'm not sure I'm up for all 34 books (especially since I'd have to buy them first, and find room for them if I don't get them on Kindle), but maybe I could do an abbreviated version - re-read the original trilogy to remind myself, and then some of the others. Voyage of the Jerle Shannara for sure. I read the first book when it came out and found it really gripping. I would have read the rest except by the time they were published I had moved on to other things. That's a thing with me... I try not to start a series before all the books are out, because either the author dies, moves on to something else, or I move on to something else. I need to binge. lol

I love your choices. There are so many wonderful classics and still there is a mix. I had to chuckle that you have both Rosemary's Baby and The Secret Garden on your list. That is reading a wide variety of things for sure!!

You have got this knocked. Some great reads. I enjoyed Cousin Rachel, even though it was aggravating plot. And Moll Flanders was just great.
