Christmas for me is like Jessica all about Family, friends & food. Also about trying to figure out that perfect gift for each loved one. We also do the typical of tree & home decorations. This year sucks since we will not be able to see the girls or grandbabies. It's going to be just me & the hubby. It's also going to be different food wise as we won't be doing what we like to call, the Big Cook. I usually prepare & cook for 3 days straight. I love making the Big Dinner with the girls. That's a most special time as I'm not able to do as much as I used to & see that starting to slip away. My pies are usually very good & always requested are my Caramel Apple Pie & my Chocolate Pecan Pie. I will leave a link for the closest Caramel Apple (view spoiler) & for the Chocolate Pecan I (view spoiler) Yum, Yum!
Caramel Apple Pie

That caramel apple pie looks decadent! Yum yum. An unrelated question on terminology - do you think Christmas lights count as "a decoration"? I'm looking at #11 and I have a book I want to read with Christmas lights on it.
Christmas to me means family and our (non)traditional Christmas dinner of tacos! My mom makes the most amazing soft shelled tacos using corn tortillas--yum!!

OMG!! Looks amazing!
Yes, it's been difficult getting to see family! Our kids decided to quarantine for 2 weeks - nice they don't have jobs outside the home - and now we're bubbled. It meant a lot to me as there is the first baby in the family.
Isn't zooming great!

Absolutely! That's definitely decorative.

Absolutely :)
Those pies look delicious Mama!! I'm almost tempted with that apple one if I could ever get the pastry right!! 🤣
Elaine wrote: "Christmas to me means family and our (non)traditional Christmas dinner of tacos! My mom makes the most amazing soft shelled tacos using corn tortillas--yum!!"LOL - I love the different traditions we all have for our food at Christmas. Its so interesting!

We just had our 2nd Grand-Baby born in June. I pretty much lived with them this past summer & quarantined with them so I would be there for baby.

As with you, I've also been at baby's home for a few weeks at a time- twice & they have been here twice as well. I'm going in Feb & March staying at an airbnb (they have small place).
I love it! seeing the minutiae of his development. Didn't have the time to notice the level with my children. :)

I do too!
I told my family about your Aussie Christmas and there was a sigh...(my son said he did have a AUS barbie on the beach @Xmas).
And I also love hearing about hot Brazil 💃, the non-traditional corn tortillas (yes, must be corn!) that have become a tradition, pies you dream about...so lovely.
By the way, I'm wearing the tacky reindeer brooch today (day #21)...hope others are suffering too. ☺️

Just you's a Pillsbury allready Red Box pie crust. They're in the refrigerated section by the biscuits. They're just as good as homemade. Just remember to flour it before putting in pie pan. Or use the bakers flour non stick spray.

We do the tacky family pj's each each year. Which I think are adorable. The girls hated them when they were young, but now that they are popular, they love them. I sent some to each girl & grandbabies. It's much simpler to find them now. I use to have to really search.
So for challenge I'm wearing my old navy pair of
I didn't think I'd finish this challenge as it looked like it was going to be 16 books, and that's more than I usually read in a month so I'd set myself a modest goal of 12/24. However, I'm already at 15/24 challenges complete! So we'll see where I end up by the end of the month.
What great posts to see on Dec 23! Makes Christmas even better! We have ugly sweaters (with blinking lights) & T-shirts that are horribly wonderful!
:)

Omg! I would love to have stockings like that for each family member. We did the whole plain ones with glitter one year but have gotten away from it. You ought to open up an Etsy & sell those suckers. Those are gorgeous!
