^ not necessarily, for example I write contemporary but as long as it has some sort of wintery aspect you will be fine
I'm pretty sure that the theme is separate from the prompts because in the last readathon in this group it was a Halloween readathon so for the book to count it would have to match the theme (be horror, take place on Halloween etc.) Then if the book also fills a prompt (These have not been posted yet for this readathon) you get 1 extra point (example from the Halloween readathon -Read a book with Halloween colors on the cover- -Read a book with a ghost on the cover- -Read a book that has the POV of a villain-) So the book has to match the theme to count toward points at all and prompts are just a bonus to get some extra points. I hope this was helpful.
Yes! That's right! Plain contemporary books count, they do not have to also be wintery. The prompts count for extra points which have not yet been posted.
ok so if I'm understanding this right - for the books to count towards the readathon, they have to match the themes, but you can get extra points for completing prompts?
I'm down to join, my updates might be a little slow because my internet is a little shotty right now though.

For example, I have a contemporary book that's set in winter, but also around Christmastime, would that count for all 3 themes, or just on..."Oh good question! I would say each theme is one point so in your case yes, it would count as 3 different themes in total!

(e.g, a book with Christmas lights on the cover, probably set ..."Books do not have to be under a theme to be eligible for any prompts, we will have some neutral prompts as well!

Not sure where else to ask this- but would a book of short stories count? The book itself is within the page requirements, but it's a collection of short stories that aren't within the page requirements

I would say yes! As long as the total page count is over the required amount, then it counts! :)
