I predicted that most of The Vanishing Half, Leave the World Behind, Transcendent Kingdom, Luster, Deacon King Kong, and Hamnet would get in, and look at that! Too bad it was Hamnet that got left out, I wanted to read that one.

interestingly enough, none of the unique prediction picks made it into the shortlist, so groupthink was on point this round!

I highly recommend you read it anyway.
Congrats Simms! I guess I kept overthinking things and removed quite a few of the shortlist from my guesses. Darn ToB! haha. It's interesting that of the shortlist, seven books are writers that have been included in a previous tournament and six of the books are first novels (by my count) from very new writers. And yeah, I don't think anyone guessed the play-in round because it does seem a little similar to last year. Also, so many of the play-in guesses are amazing.
