Gordon (skiiltan) | 2940 comments I actually listened to Animals last week, for the first time in well over 10 years. I agree that the lyrics work well as text. I don't find the songs terribly satisfying, though. I'd say the same about most of Roger Waters's solo records, including The Final Cut, which was effectively a solo album (apart from Not Now John: by far the best track on the album*).

But I do love - absolutely and unconditionally love - The Wall. The one time Roger Waters got everything right. Just a shame there wasn't room for When the Tigers Broke Free.

*EDIT: I'd forgotten The Fletcher Memorial Home was on The Final Cut. That was good, too.

The Final Cut is my favourite Pink Floyd album, and I'd be more of a Waters than Gilmour fan.
