Chapter 19: (view spoiler)[I feel like I'm overwhelmed and part of the story as well. That huge twist with Jared Sage is brilliant! He will have to comply to Sydney's terms. I'm feeling warm for Zoe now. (hide spoiler)]

Ending: (view spoiler)[ No kidding, it was a satisfying sequel and far better than the Vampire Academy series. I didn't liked The Fiery Heart (book #4) the same as I hated Blood Promise (#4) so I thought another Mead series is going downhill by book #4, but Silver Shadows made up for it as The Ruby Circle did.

I didn't really felt like the ENTIRE SERIES ended already! I guess it's been 12 books and it's just overwhelming, but let's look at what Mead left open for TOO MANY POSSIBILITIES that it was hard to comprehend how she just wrapped it up like that:

1. The Alchemists - Sydney made deals with the Alchemists to end re-education or at least alter the ways they discipline their people. It wasn't an assurance since it's a practice they've been doing for years, but Stanton did say that they'll look into it where they really are disciplined and not forced. But it was too open to even think about such possibility. I also think that giving the 4 names involved in the Warriors-Alchemists arrangement was not enough for them to warrant her freedom. That's it? They must be so desperate for those names.
2. Jared Sage - We know Jared is a hard man, and he hates not controlling or being superior, so Sydney blackmailing him is insulting to him, even more with her bargain to let his ex-wife have custody to Zoe. I'm really curious how he'll execute it!
3. Angeline - We know the queen's funding her academics but it would have been nice if she actually had a dialogue or met with the others PERSONALLY.
4. Alicia and the witches - I felt like the whole's story is divided into four races: the vampires, the Alchemists, the magic-wielding human witches and the ordinary humans. Maude/Jackie said Alicia will face punishments and that they have their own trial, and I was like, really? Is that even possible that they have their own ways? Even if Alicia was a mean girl, I care about her character enough to still be curious how they will deal with her.
5. Neil leaving the baby to Sydney and Adrian - We know Neil will go back to Declan when things are okay, but as much as I understood his opinion, I didn't feel like Sydney being a young wife AND mother will put a nice ring to it. She's too young, and even though it's okay, I think it was too much of him to ask that they raise him.
6. Nina - All we know is she's gone crazy and is still unresponsive, but I'm curious how she reacts to the news about Olive and Declan. When will she be well?
7. Strigoi vaccine - There was no mention of this in the book about the progress of this project.
8. Equality for dhampirs - Moroi defending themselves and using magic has been fought for ever since in VA, but if I were a Moroi parent to a dhampir child, it's pressuring for me to see my child go through protecting someone else when they can be trained anyway. Dhampir communes still exist, and they are looked upon so low and insulting.
9. Declan being a miracle baby - All secrets will be revealed soon, and I wonder how they'll all keep Olive's wishes not turning Declan into a lab rat but really, his existence is a wonder to many because of the biology they've known their whole life.

I did enjoy the plot and relationship dynamics, just didn't feel that satisfied enough with so many loose ends.

Finally finished! I'm so happy with that ending (view spoiler)[ Rose and Dimitri are engaged, which is so perfect. Adrian and Sydney are finally safe and living together. Getting a baby was awfully convenient, but I can forgive that for the sake of the happy ending. Although I did think the rescuing of Jill was a bit rushed. I mean, all the clues went on for a long time, but the actual final rescue wasn't done as well as I hoped (hide spoiler)]
