This was such a complex book. I particularly loved the interweaving of the political setting (such world-building, such complexity) with the individual memory issues of the protagonist. Great way to have an unreliable narrator.
This was a brilliant book, and the follow up is just as good. Her world building was amazing. You got the feel of the different cultures, and how the people were struggling to understand exactly what was going on with the other culture, without it ever being overt/in your face. Great characters and plot, as well.
An exceptional book from a new author. The sequel is just as good. I cannot reccomend this book too much!!!Palace and political intrigue in a sci/Fi setting rich with culture, poetry and language that makes me think of Mayan/Aztec/Meso America. The author draws you in and paints a vivd picture. I loved this book.
