cool! I am only 53 pages in and I can't put it down!! such a good read so far hey? do you feel the same?
Yeah, I had to force myself to sleep haha. I loved the concept and writing style, great premise so far. And I absolutely love the books which have a strong female lead who want to be free and defy the conventions of society..so far Adeline has. I've read till Chapter14 of 1st partBtw this is my first V. E. Schwab read, I've heard about her other books as well.
yeah my first v.e. Schwab as well. I'll have to look into her others as well. I am on part 3 already. it does not disappoint so far!
Wow! I would be a little late as I'll finish part 2 tonight but it is definitely an interesting read.
I am loving the concept of her leaving her imprints in art at the beginning of each part of the book. that's a cool concept, she is able to contribute to the world in a huge way even though no one remembers her.
Yeah I agree.I realized this concept halfway through part 3 when a sudden realization hit me, all these art-works are someway or other related to Addie lol.
Melissa, I'm glad this book made it to your top 3 list :)
On part 6, hoping to finish today. :)Got sidetracked with some work related assignments, I hate when this happens...when you are reading a good book but can't complete it.
I hope you guys don't mind me jumping in. I finished the book a couple of weeks ago and I've been dying to talk about it. What'd you guys think about the ending?
I thought the ending was pretty good, although the author can almost write a sequel with Addie and Luc so we know how Addie ultimately "wins." I want more. lol how about you guys? what did you think of the ending?
A sequel would be just awesome, I want more of Addie! She is definitely going to be one of the most interesting characters I read this year.I know everyone who participated in this thread has finished reading it now but just in case for any new member SPOILERS AHEAD!
The ending was fairly predictable, I guessed very early that Addie would sacrifice herself for Henry, I mean she had to but her checkmate move with Luc was something that I wasn't expecting and that made me give it a 5 star rating!
Also Luc was a God afterall, shouldn't he be more busy rather than chasing Addie and making her life miserable by intentionally using Henry (just a thought)
yeah I would think so too (about him being more busy) and yeah I was hoping she'd sacrifice herself for Henry but the whole checkmate thing was pretty good for sure. I agree, didn't see it coming, now I want to see what else happens, how it plays out until the very end.
It's very clever of the author to let readers decide the ending, how and when would she finally be free!By the way I loved the cat's name and if I'm ever going to pet one, I'll name it Book :)
Nah, I don't think Luc realized immediately otherwise he wouldn't make that deal. He's too proud. It's the power of semantics, even Luc could be deceived lol.
Oh my.. I just finished this and it was the best book I've read this year. It was so beautifully written and just kept getting better and better as it went along. I didn't want it to end.
Has this been optioned for a movie. I want one.. it would be brilliant.
