Okay everyone it's time to make book selections for November. Let's post all selections here. Let's give everyone a week to make their selection. Remember one selection for each member. That gives everyone until 10/5/09 to make their selection.

I will set up the poll of selections on 10/6/09. We will then have a week to place our vote. That gives you until 10/12/09 to place your vote.

I will post the winner on 10/13/09. We will begin the selection on November 1, 2009.

Let me know if you have any questions.

HAPPY READING!

Hey guys when making your selection click on the add book/author link right above the message window to add a link right to the book so everyone can easily read the overview.

That's the great thing Samantha, we can still add all of these to our "to be read" list.

That's what I love about this site I get so many great read ideas from everbody.

A couple of the books selected for last month that we are not reading are on my list.

The bad thing is my list keeps getting longer and longer! LOL

Revolutionary Road

The Book Thief

Sea of Poppies

Winter in Madrid

I also like The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society as Lindsay suggested.

Lindsay (ljones08) Hey all,
This is just a suggestion, but to make things a little more interesting in the poll for November's read, I think it would be neat to see what book wins if no one votes for their own nomination.. Anyone else like this idea?? Then there may be more of a majority for one book then one might think.. anyways, just throwing it out there, and it's how I always vote..

That's a great idea Lindsay! Especially since we are such a small group. We don't want to end up with 13 different books voted for. For last months selection I was sure to read the book description for all selections before I made my selection for a book other than the one I selected.

My thinking is if my book is not selected I can read it on my own later, especially if I already have it.

What does everyone else think? Do you think we should do that from now on?

Please make any other suggestions because I am new to this and I want to make this a great book club that everyone enjoys and continues to want to be a part of. I will setup a suggestions thread. Please post them there.

Lindsay (ljones08) That was my thinking too Cidney! I figured I was gonna read my selection regardless, but this forces me to think outside my bubble and get to know the genres that everyone else likes!

Samantha (heartsonfire12) | 43 comments I think we should pick 4 books to vote from books already suggested. That way we can all have a turn at reading the books. Then when the selections run out then we suggest again..lol..What do you all think?
I plan on reading the ones I chose anyhow. They are on my amazon wishlist..lol.So either way I will read it. But when the time comes to discuss it, we will be ready.

Yes I like Lindsay suggestion. I think most of us will read at some point our 'own'selection anyway. So you got my vote for what its worth.
