Robert Brown | 9 comments My name is Rob, and I'm proud to say that I've recently self-published the first part of my series of novellas, titled: WHERE THE TREE AT?

As expected, sales and reviews have been slow. I'm not too concerned with the low sales, but I would like more reviews. I feel I have written something beautiful and would like those who are interested in immersing themselves in a story for about two hours, to give it a read.

The ebook is free with Kindle Unlimited or 99 cents on Amazon if you'd like to support. I can also email a copy!

For those who take the time to read my story, thank you so much! Please leave an honest review on Goodreads and Amazon if you can!

Trigger Warning: Some swearing, some violence, some drug use, and some sexual content, all coated in some good ol' fashion nihilism.

Book Description: This is an introspective piece, centered on its enigmatic, pot-dealing main character Baron. Baron is a twenty-four-year-old aspiring writer on the verge of completing his first screenplay. Existing perpetually in a state of contemplation, his work gets pushed to the wayside as he maneuvers through life in search of peace of mind. Attributing his sorrows to the lack of authenticity in present society, he escapes from his life to dissect his being in absolute solitude, only to find out he’s the source of his discontentment. After an accumulation of poor decisions, he finds himself in a difficult situation, forcing him to either expedite the process of achieving his creative aspirations or remain idle and suffer the consequences of his actions.

Jim Vuksic | 1227 comments Rob,

The vast majority of avid readers never post a rating or review. Those that do are merely expressing their personal, and therefore subjective, opinion. One reader's Best book ever! might very well be another reader's Worst book ever!, which is why most astute readers do not allow generic reviews to influence their choice of reading material one way or the other.

Contrary to what many novice authors believe, sales drive reviews, not the other way around. Focus your efforts and resources on striving to continuously learn more and improve upon your knowledge and application of basic writing skills, marketing, and promotional tools rather than obsessing over reviews and the sales will increase.

The odds against any novice author obtaining commercial success within this extremely competitive field are great. That said; some have. There is no reason why you could not eventually become one of them. I wish you success.
