I really like it also. Got todays chapters completed. So many questions and theories I have about what may happen cant wait to see.
I finished the chapters for today! I wasn't really liking Casiopea in the beginning, but I think now I'm starting to appreciate her character more. It's also really refreshing to read a novel rooted in a kind of mythology that isn't Greek or Roman or Norse--don't get me wrong, those mythological stories and characters are fantastic, but it isn't often that books are written about, for example, Mayan mythology. It's really nice to see :)
Just finished the chapter for today. I do love that the mythology is something new to me. I love a strong female character always. Really enjoyed the Mexico City parts where she stood up to Martin and "saved" Hun Kame from Xtabay. Wondering about HunKame's humanity/God issue. Will there be love?
I cant stand Martin. I knew he was always driven by jealousy, but glad they finally spelled out some of his past.
Ha! I totally agree with you. Martín is definitely so frustrating and suffers from toxic masculinity syndrome for sure, but it’s kind of funny to read from his perspective knowing that Casiopea is a million times more capable than him. Anyway, I finished the chapters for today! Super intrigued by Hun-Kamé’s character and his transformation from being a god to being more mortal.
I finished the book. I really enjoyed it not sure of my rating yet, but somewhere around a 4 star, but not a 5. Now interested in more books with a Mayan history. So different for me. It kind of ended how I thought it would, but didn't mind that. The way it happened surprised me though. Wont spoil anything.
FINALLY finished the book! Life got super hectic and I didn't manage to finish it until now, but I enjoyed it as well! Like you, Michelle, I'm not super sure about my rating, but it was a really interesting read.
