Lucy convinces Sean that they need to rescue Micah’s brother Tommy before seeking help. However, he gets captured and so does she later on. Did this stretch credulity or was it all feasible?

Robin (robinmy) | 2450 comments Well, I could see them going back to watch the camp and wait for the FBI, but I thought it was a stretch that they would be able to walk in and take the kid without anyone noticing.

They were outnumbered and out gunned. Their best bet was to get help despite the risk of them taking off with Tommy, which I didn’t believe they’d do without that book or Micah. Both Lucy and Sean almost died. It wasn’t their finest moment and I blame Lucy. Sean knew better but will always defer to Lucy. Her judgment was impacted by her maternal instincts, which overrode her training.

Yes, it stretched credulity for a bit until I realized at the end what was really driving Lucy.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3474 comments Yeah, I had problems with a lot of the events in this novella. I'm not a big fan of either one so far in this series.

Sean's desire to defer to Lucy gets them in trouble. I hope this isn't going to continue. They need to be partners and make decisions by evaluating the pro and cons.

I didn't feel any better about their decisions even when we learn the reasons behind Lucy's willingness to put both her and Sean at risk.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments Sean should have convinced Lucy that going in was a mistake and they needed to wait for backup. I know Micah was very worried about his brother, but getting everyone out alive and the baddies captured required more than just them.

Melissa (melissasd) | 676 comments I agreed with Lucy that Tommy needed to be rescued first, but Sean should have been watching his back. Lucy's capture was a bit more believable.
