I thought it was one abductor. My main suspect was Jerry Burns since he had covered for his brother earlier in the book. I thought Jerry was abducting women and Harold may have been helping him. I didn't expect Chelsea's abduction to be separate from the other crimes in the book.
I was caught off guard when I realized there were two separate crimes! Never crossed my mind.
I was also surprised about Jerry. I thought at worst he was just trying to protect his brother. These two were awful human beings. Who does this?

I also thought it was one abductor due to the POV in chapter one. To be honest, I have a problem with this style of misleading writing. There is a similar inconsistency with the POV in the first book as well, which made it difficult to narrow down the culprit. Tricking the reader is not a good writing technique.
In terms of Harold and Jerry - they are the same as Derek and Elliot. Money does not change a person's misogyny.
Lauren, your comparison of the two sets of brothers is very insightful, imho.I didn't suspect the same town had two different abductors of women at the same time. Of course, as soon as Morgan felt that something was unresolved, I knew her gut was right, just not how.

It is difficult to make a small town the setting for a long crime series. Before too long the entire town is either a victim or a criminal.

I love that show. I thought last year was the end but I see another season on Netflix.
