There will be a monastery. Originally there will be a one boy who is mute and writes lot of names & numbers. Later it is found that the numbers he write correspond to people's name and their date of death. He rapes and impregnates a girl and then continues writing names & dates. The girl has a baby who has the same ability. It is turned into a project (possibly controlled by the government) and in 21st century, there are so many monks in the monastery who keeps on writing the names and dates....

I read this paperback novel which I picked in an vancouver canada airport shop in 2009.
