It's a muscle like any other. You develop it by using it. I wrote shorts from second grade through my sophomore year of college when an essay by Dean Koontz in Strange Highways convinced me to try novels. I finished my first decent one after about twenty years and published one after another seven (with a hiatus for newborns). Books are like kisses: after you finish one, the rest come easier.PM me if you want some free editing and suggestions. The desire and motivation have to come from you, though. Music helps.

New to this group and the writing process. I have drafted several fiction short stories but honestly, I'm out of my depth on what to do next or how to stay motivated. I'm a PR pro by trade and have only begun writing creatively this past year. I'm looking for someone to guide me on this path and take a look at some of my work. I'll take good advice and I'm willing to learn.
