I like that this section dived a little more into Jude’s story, though there is still a bit of mystery there. I’m in no hurry to find out his past though 😬 I really love Harold, and Andy too. This section ended so nicely; I’m kind of waiting for the rug to get pulled out from under me.
The cutting and seeping wounds on Jude's legs had me queasy. We don't have the full story on his past, but we get a glimpse of his time at the monastery after being abandoned in the trash as an infant. An absolutely crushing story of neglect and abuse... and I'm sure we have just scratched the surface. Heartbreaking to get a view into how little self worth Jude has of himself...his panic prior to the adoption by Harold was terribly sad. I like that the section ended on a high point...even though it was very odd to think about him being adopted at the age of 30...I mean, does that really happen? I understand Harold and Julia's reason, but the whole concept seemed strange to me.
