Protagonist has been losing time, and it turns out that this is because the supersoldiers have been taking control of their mind. They are close friends with a woman who is a psychic, who is kidnapped. In trying to find their friend, the protagonist ends up team up with two of the super soldiers who are up against a member of their team who is trying to end the world, or something similarly awful. The setting is a multi-cultural city that has survived some sort of cataclysm. I'm pretty sure the author is a woman.
