Correct, the folders will go up in the first week of December.

Welcome to the group, Leslie! Here is a good place for you to start: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

Leslie,
You can find much of that information (with links) in the Welcome Message you received on November 15th from a Welcome Committee member.
Did you not receive a message? Shall I send you a new one?

Zan wrote: "Would you be able to resend me a new welcome message please? I have been inactive due to uni and would like to restart again next year. Thank you."
Zan and Leslie, I will send both of you the welcome message!

Ilona
Thanks for taking care of that while I was sleeping. 😊

Yeeessss! Please participate in next year's yearly, quarterly, and monthly challenges!
Hopefully, we'll be offering a little something to suit every reading taste!
Once you have your own 2021 Member's Corner thread, you can create posts for different challenges that interest you and see how your 2021 TBRs fit them before you make a commitment by signing up. :D
My first full year in the group, though, I signed up for all 15 yearly challenge. That, I don't recommend. LOL.

I read through listening to audio books, so is there like a challenge that suits better for audio books? How can I have my own member's corner thread?

Audiobooks count the same as physical books or ebooks for all our group's challenges, so there's no challenge that specifically suits audiobooks.
Our challenges mostly differ on the basis of their themes and/or prompts, so your choice would depend on how your own reading preferences fit a particular challenge.
You can create your own Member's Corner to start planning for 2021 now by following these instructions.
https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
Once the 2021 Member's Corner folder is created on December 1st, you can create a new thread in that folder and copy/paste your posts from your 2020 thread. That's what I do anyway.
For example, I know I'll be joining the Serial Reader and Listopia challenges in 2021, so I've already started planning series, listopias, and books for those two challenges.
But unless you know which 2021 challenges interest you, you might as well wait until De 1 when (a) the 2021 yearly challenges start posting and (b) folders for our Personal Challenge and Member's Corner threads are created so we can make our own threads.

All personal challenge threads for 2020 will be archived in the beginning of January. If you would like to keep yours, you can send one of us a message (or post in the main 2021 Personal challenge topic) when the new folders go live, and we can move the topic for you :)

If the Let's Turn Pages Challenge is going again in 2021 maybe we could add Count the Hours for the people that listen to audiobooks more?

Love this idea! I just discovered audio books this year and I'..."

Hi Lindsay, thank you for your question. Let's Turn Pages has many updates each month and can be time consuming for the leader. You can include audiobooks but use the page numbers in the most popular edition instead of hours. For 2021, we will be including pages only but we may consider hours too in future challenges.

Randy! Don't jinx it!

It feels like Christmas eve LOL :)"
Ikr!
I feel like a little kid already and the yearly challenges haven't even been posted yet :) I can't wait to start organizing everything.

Randy! Don't jinx it!"
Oh no! I hope I didn't... ;-)

Welcome to the group, L.B. ! We've all been there , so no worries. It can be a bit overwhelming (at least it was for me) but take your time, take a look around and don't hesitate to ask if you've got any questions. This is a super friendly and helpful group.

Alyana, Marathon is just a way to kick off the year with bang (so-to-speak). The main difference is that Marathon runs for January only, while Let's turn the pages is a year-long challenge.
I hope this answered your question :)

-- I see. I'm thinking of which of the two should I join in ;)

-- I think I signed up for too many challenges and I'm just afraid I won't be able to do them properly. I don't want to to feel like reading/listening to a book a task and not able to enjoy it. But let's see. :)

As Lisa explained, Marathon is a January-only challenge while Let's Turn Pages runs for a year.
Moreover, you can count either books or pages for the Marathon challenge, but for Let's Turn Pages you count only pages.
As long as you don't set your goals too high, both challenges are easy to do alongside other challenges since both Marathon & LTP track your reading, without requiring you to read certain books.
You can always re-assess your Marathon goal in mid-January or your LTP goal at June end, then raise or lower them accordingly.
