Mira is a senior in high school, getting good grades, on the yearbook committee, making plans for college. Her world is shattered when one day she walks in on her father with his male lover. Struggling to cope with her feelings of anger and betrayal, Mira's life soon spirals out of control.

In this story told in verse, Mira's raw emotions and passions come through. The author takes her own experiences and uses them to channel Mira's tale and draw the reader in. Though it felt a little rough at first, soon the verses developed a good rhythm. Recommended.
