Kandice | 2061 comments He was certainly my favorite Bond. He was also the perfect dad to Indiana Jones among many other parts.

W | 34 comments Despite all the fame and fortune James Bond gave him,Connery walked away from the role.

A much older Connery returned in Never Say Never Again. This was an "unofficial" Bond film made by another producer. It didn't feel like a Bond film.

W | 34 comments As for his other roles,I liked him in Hitchcock's Marnie, though the film was not among Hitchcock's best.James Bond producer Cubby Broccoli writes in his book that while Connery didn't want to play Bond,he was keen to work with "fooking Hitchcock."

A few Connery favorites: Marnie/ The Man Who Would Be King/ The Anderson Tapes/ The Wind and the Lion/ The Great Train Robbery.
Will admit not a great James Bond fan but Connery by far the best JB ever!

W | 34 comments Yes,The Man Who Would be King was a good one.
Based on a story by Rudyard Kipling, two former British soldiers head to Kafiristan and the locals treat them as gods.Connery was great in the role.

James Best (jamesbest) | 121 comments I will echo the others in this forum who expressed how much they liked Connery in THE MAN WHO WOULD BE KING. I think that he and Michael Caine were terrific in that film.

I also enjoyed his role as Ramirez in the original HIGHLANDER movie, as well as THE UNTOUCHABLES which earned him an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor.

Another one I like, although it didn't get a lot of box office love, was FINDING FORRESTER where Connery plays a reclusive novelist who befriends a young African American high school student.

He will always be Bond to me and a generation of older movie goers. But his other roles will stick with me just as much as his one as 007.

Rest in peace, sir. You will be missed.
